• Contested Sequel: All the follow-up movies. While they were critically-acclaimed for the most part and certainly have their fans (though Gurin med Reverompa is generally agreed to be the weakest movie, with the worst-constructed plot), the original movie is like the Norwegian classic movie, and plenty of fans hate the new movies because they can never be the first one. First Installment Wins, indeed!
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Ludvig. Solan, to some degree.
• It's Short, So It Sucks!: Many players felt that the 2021 remake of the Licensed Game cut so many of the original's mini-games that the game turned out too short to be worth the asking price of ~$45.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Many players were disappointed by the 2021 remake of the Licensed Game because it cut many of the original's mini-games.
• Values Dissonance: Sheikh Ben Redic Fy Fazan is a comical Middle-Eastern stereotype who can't quite grasp the Norwegian language completely. There haven't been any reactions (yet), but the stereotypical aspects of the character were likely a contributing factor to him being absent from the follow-up trilogy released in The New '10s.
