• Award Snub: Immersion was nominated for "Best Dance Release" at the 2010 ARIA Awards, but lost to Yolanda Be Cool's "We No Speak Americano".
• Broken Base: Which edition of Hold Your Color is better: the original, or the 2007 re-issue? The debate commonly boils down to wether "Blood Sugar" was worth the replacement of the original outro tracks, and both sides have their strong supporters.
• Friendly Fandoms:
  • With deadmau5, The Prodigy, In Flames, Enter Shikari, Hadouken!, and Porcupine Tree, due to being influenced by many of them. In Flames, Liam Howlett and Steven Wilson would collaborate with Pendulum on a few tracks on Immersion, and Rob Swire would lend his own vocals on Deadmau5's singles Ghosts N Stuff and Monophobia.
  • On a greater scale, Pendulum and the British rock scene. While the drum & bass side of the fandom lost it after In Silico (mostly coming back with Immersion), Pendulum seems to have a massive amount of respect from rock fans since then, with the general idea of "yeah, these guys are electronic, but they're just as metal as everyone else at this festival". Hilarious in Hindsight and ironic after many of the "fans" on Dogs on Acid basically told them that they weren't "hard" enough for rock fans to like them; even more so if you know Rob and Gareth's musical history: being rock musicians before being drum & bass producers.
  • Also with Devin Townsend after the release of Immersion: he contacted them to use the melody of "The Island" in his song "Save Our Now", and all the more so after his remix of "Crush" on The Reworks.
• Heartwarming Moments: Gareth had a fear of The War Of The Worlds since he was very young. When working on a song ("Voyager"), he decided to face his fear so the album could be sampled for the song.
• Ho Yay:
  • There's an interview in which Rob and Gareth are asked if they're married. Gareth instantly replies "To each other?" with a massive grin on his face, which causes Rob to respond with an almost mortified "No".
  • Becomes Hilarious in Hindsight when you find out that Gareth is practically the walking embodiment of Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today? (to the point of being embarrassed when buying cucumbers for a tonic) and Rob is generally the more secure one of the pair who has no problems joking on Twitter about how he and Gareth are a gay couple.
• It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Besides their controversial change in direction, most of their songs are accused of sounding identical to each other, as parodied in this video.
• Memetic Mutation:
  • Tiarawhy examples:
    • "Out Here" became a sensation after brony she popularized it by featuring the track in her NSFW flash animations.
    • She's even used "The Vulture" in her infamous Milkmare game, and "Salt on the Wounds" on her Cadance game!
    • And also "Fasten Your Seatbelts" on Chrysalis.swf.
  • Rob Swire Has a Nervous Breakdown

  • "Enjoy Pendulum at Reading!"
• Moment of Awesome: Rob Swire's lengthy rant on the Dogsonacid forums being blamed for killing Drum N Bass. This stanza in particular:
  "Oh, and by the way — I'm not sure if drum and bass is dead or dying (I've been in the studio / on tour too long to tell). However, if your genre was flimsy enough to be knocked over by ONE SINGLE RECORDING ARTIST who happened to — god forbid — sell some fucking records for the first time in about 5/6 years, then I'm glad it was us that got to drive the final stake through its stale pig shit heart — and good riddance. Wake me up when your genre is making something that people outside the scene think is worth listening to again."
• More Popular Replacement: KJ Sawka replaced Paul Kodish as the drummer. KJ is considered to be a more talented drummer, while Paul is largely forgotten by fans.
• Signature Song: "Propane Nightmares" and "Slam".
• Sweet Dreams Fuel:
  • "Plasticworld". It's Pendulum mixing their traditional DnB sound with jazz, of all genres, but it works perfectly and sounds like it would fit in the atmosphere of a busy street at night illuminated by neon signs.
  • "Still Grey" is either this or Nightmare Fuel, depending on how you see it.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Poor In Silico. This album had one of the most controversial stories in the history of electronic music.
• Unexpected Character: When announcing The Reworks, we saw a list of other electronic artists, ranging from a couple of moderately known acts to Skrillex and Devin Townsend.
• Vindicated by History: In Silico has now a better reception by the DnB community, probably thanks to Immersion.
• Win Back the Crowd: One word: IMMERSION.
