YMMV / Ore-sama Teacher

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Kangawa is the most popular character after Mafuyu despite having only a handful of appearances (he's from a different school and actually lives in a different city from the rest of the main cast).
    • Ayaben is the 3rd most popular character, even though he's introduced quite late and is (obviously) featured less frequently than the other members of the Disciplinary Club. For comparison, Banchou ranks 4th, Hayasaka is 5th, Takaomi is 6th.
    • Both characters consistently ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in both of the official polls. It's justified in Kangawa's case as he occasionally appears here and then whenever Mafuyu comes back to Saitama, but rather incredible in Ayabe's case who so far only has small cameos after his introductory arc. The second poll lampshades their charms as "cuteness" (for Kangawa) and "onii-chan" (for Ayabe).
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: The manga ended with heavy Maybe Ever After implications for Mafuyu and Takaomi. Some fans decided to ignore this since it wasn't their favorite pairing and continue to ship Mafuyu with other characters such as Okegawa, Kangawa, or Hayasaka instead.
  • Launcher of a Thousand Ships: Mafuyu is shippable with practically all the cast... It does help that there's plenty of Ship Tease involved in most cases...
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • There's a scene in Chapter 114 where Hayasaka rescues a drowning pigeon, which is accompanied by Love Bubbles and Rescue Romance vibes (Mafuyu and Banchou's exaggerated description of the scene doesn't help either). Cue Hatoful Boyfriend references.
    • Due to the Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy dynamic Mafuyu has with most of her love interests (up to and including Okegawa of all people), fanarts tend to portray her as the more dominant and less blushy partner to whoever is paired with her (except for Takaomi, who in canon is the only one that could dominate her).
    • "It deserves an anime" - due to the series still have yet to be adapted into an anime despite being rather well-known and having been published for more than 10 years (since 2007).
  • Moe:
    • Actively invoked in Yukioka Komari's case.
    • Mafuyu as a kid is considered very cute by lots of readers.
    • Kangawa has a lot of blushing moments whenever he's around Mafuyu and overall behaves like a cute and obedient kouhai. However, his most adorable moment has to be when he cries in chapter 38 out of jealousy that Mafuyu seeked for Sakurada to play instead of him.
