- Awesome Art: Bruno Redondo's art is incredible and often features very stylized pages of Nightwing moving around the city. Special mention goes to #87, which accomplishes the seemingly impossible and managed to create the comic book equivalent of The Oner by being one long continuous image.
- Fan Nickname: Dick's dog was quickly christened "Bitewing" by fans.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The first villain's gimmick is killing people by ripping their hearts out. A week after the villain's debut, this coincidentally is how the first issue of Robin (2021) ends, with new character Flatline ripping Damian Wayne's heart out. Apparently the unique method of killing isn't so unique and a teenage girl can do it.
- Spiritual Successor:
- A superhero comic book about a street-level vigilante who owns an entire block of apartments and starts off by saving a dog and taking it in. Tom Taylor's Nightwing or Matt Fraction's Hawkeye? Even beyond the superficial elements, numerous comparisons have been made to Fraction's Hawkeye run due to the use of "moment to moment" panel transitions and experimenting with what can be done with comics as a story telling medium.
