The 2011 Comic
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The initial set up is that the two sisters find themselves on opposite sides of a class conflict. This could have lead to an interesting plot where both sisters get their own plotline that fleshes out both sides. Instead, the lion's share of the plot is given to Giselle, whose story is focused on typical Wizarding School antics instead of anything doing with the class conflict. Meanwhile, La RĂ©sistance members are portrayed as evil or being manipulated by the evil people with very little focus on why they are rebelling in the first place.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: We are supposed to see the upper class as the good guys because they oppose the violent revolutionaries who decide to lynch Gieselle for no other reason than to make an example of her. However, the comic shows the upper class mostly as Upper Class Twits and The Upper Crass. Meanwhile, the everyone who doesn't belong to the upper class live in slums with seemingly no in-between. This is despite fact the upper class have magic-powered robots that easily could improve the living conditions of the poor.
