- Awesome Art: The animation in the cartoons is incredibly fluid for something made in Toon Boom, and the backgrounds aren't bad either.
- Awesome Music: Their songs are just so damn well made.
- For their covers of pre-existing songs, there's If You're Happy and You Know It, Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, This Little Light of Mine, Here We Go Looby Loo, Rig-a-Jig-Jig, Six Little Ducks, Mr. Sun, and Peek-a-Boo.
- For their original songs, there's Ice Cream Song, Dinosaur Stomp, Freight Train, Rainbow, Rainbow, Earth is Our Home, Rockin' Robot, Soccer Rocker, The Planting Song, Eight Planets, and A Haunted House on Halloween Night.
- Broken Base: Which is better: their covers or their originals? The live-action or the cartoons? And was the 2015 Retool necessary?
- Covered Up: "Swimming" is actually a traditional song usually sung at summer camps. MGC's cover changed a few lyrics and added new ones, and became so popular to the point where people think MGC created it.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The animation-exclusive characters: Humpty Dumpty, his unnamed girlfriend, and Yuri the Monkey.
- Friendly Fandoms: Parents who let their kids watch MGC are friendly with those who let their kids watch ChuChuTV and Little Baby Bum.
- Growing the Beard: Once they released their version of "Ring Around the Rosy", the quality of their videos started to go up, as their live-action videos began to be filmed in glorious HD, and they started making more original songs. That is, until the quality went down the toilet a few years later.
- Moe: All six characters, especially in the chibi art style that was used since "The Planting Song".
- Narm Charm: The program can best be described as six teens/adults wearing ridiculous costumes singing children's songs while dancing against a weird greenscreen. Despite that, the actors clearly do their best and their songs are just so adorable, catchy, and well-made.
- Periphery Demographic: Mostly consisting of teens and young adults who find the actors attractive, but also of people who legitimately enjoy the songs. The pre-2017 videos are surprisingly high quality for a nursery rhyme YouTube channel.
- Seasonal Rot: Since 2017, particularly the WildBrain buyout, the brand went from unique to just another face in the crowd, constantly chasing trends.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: As evidenced by the pre-COPPA YouTube and Facebook comments, some parents took issue with the recasting of Mary, Eep, Jack, and Bo Peep. This has since faded away, though.
- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: As of 2022, the animations have ditched the Cartoony Eyes and now use huge "normal" eyes to the characters. The end result is a tad unsettling.
- Viewer Gender Confusion:
- A shocking amount of viewers think Eep is a girl.
- While everyone knows that Mary is a girl, many think that the first actress playing her was a boy. She was played by Abigail McGuire, who is obviously a girl.
