• Catharsis Factor: Damn, does watching Haruka deal much deserved death feel good.
• Les Yay:
  • Haruka assumes that Ogura started bullying her because she started getting close with Aiba. This is true, but it wasn't because Ogura wanted Aiba for herself. She was afraid of Aiba stealing Haruka away from her.
  • Most of Rumi's actions through out the manga are in some sort of twisted effort to please Ogura, who she seems to look up to despite being bullied.
• Narm: After a certain point, the bullying becomes so insanely exaggerated that it becomes difficult to take the story seriously. The bullies in this story are so over-the-top evil that even the orphanage bullies from Elfen Lied would probably be against them. The most prominent of them go above and beyond typical bullying and into straight-up Ax-Crazy territory and sound way more adult and fatalistic than the 10 or 11 these kids are supposed to be (the live-action film at least ages them up). The worst of it is when the Alpha Bitch 'burns down the main character's house, which kills her parents and leaves her younger sister severely burned and comatose. And that's not even mentioning the fact that the main character is subjected to these things for literally no reason other than the fact that she's from out of town.
