YMMV / Lucky Luke and the Daltons

Go To

  • Awesome Art: Something that astonished many of the viewers who were familiar with the Lucky Luke series is the overall setting of the movie which replicates perfectly the look and feel of the comic books. An example of this are the signature clothes the Daltons and Luke wear.
  • Bile Fascination: The main draw to watch this film for French people is that it's regularly considered as one of the worst French films ever made.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The film is way more liked in several countries in Europe than in its own native France. It very likely has to do with localizations, where the French are stuck with the annoying dialogues of Éric Judor and Ramzy Bedia.
  • Ham and Cheese: Another redeeming quality of the movie is the exaggerated performances of the Daltons. From Joe's evil grim or tantrums due to his blind rage and Averell's bemused and adorable expressions to the emphasis in William's pain. The only exception is Jack, who keeps a more toned-down acting in order to blend well with his The Stoic trait.
  • Jerkass Woobie: In a similar way to Lucky Luke: Ballad of the Daltons and the series The Daltons, you feel sorry for the Daltons, who come off as Unpopular Popular Protagonists due to them still showing their comedic traits and losing at the end.
  • Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The special effects of Rantanplan's face come off as particularly awkward.
