- Adaptation Displacement: None of the franchise is popular in the US, but the video game is marginally more well-known than the show or comic. A few people have heard of the game and a couple YouTube gamers have reviewed it, but they aren't familiar with the source material.
- Americans Hate Tingle: The series was exported to America in the 1970's, but it wasn't very successful and almost no one remembers it. There are so few fans that none of them have even uploaded the dub online.
- Fan Nickname: The ramen man is often billed by fans as "the ramen guy" due to his affinity for ramen shown in other works.
- Retroactive Recognition: In the original 1960s anime, the title character was voiced by Machiko Soga, who would eventually go on to play Bandora (AKA: Rita Repulsa).
- Unexpected Character: Perman shows up out of nowhere in the Grand Finale to save the day.
