  • Glass of Water and its predecessor Rather Vocalized Illusion were both directly invoking this for a wide variety of topics.
  • Lily's comic series The Release drops a very heavy (and silly) anvil about gender identity.
    • Self Destruction is a 10-minute tirade at the way Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep and many communities on the Internet coddle people who are battling with self-harm and doing nothing proactive to help them.
  • Season Five in Seven Minutes had its entire final third devoted to The Cutie Remark and its implications regarding MLP's continued reliance on snapshot redemption structure.
• Broken Base: Is Lily's comment moderation for her videos born out of a desire to seal herself in a bubble and not allow anyone else to argue against her or an understanding of the atmosphere that Youtube comments typically suffer from?
• Critical Dissonance: Invoked by Glass of Water, which repeatedly looks at the differences of opinion between the Analysis Community and the casual viewer. Particularly Forsaking The Background and Tropes vs Orchard Blossom which are specifically centered around how a practiced critic and the average layperson views the series.

• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Many of the early Rather Vocalized Illusion episodes centered around anti-feminism, anti-social justice, and a fetishization for Free Speech that one would typically expect from a teenager with little perspective on the real world. Cut to five years later and Lily has grown up while darker sections of the internet seem to have adopted these same mindsets with an almost violent passion.
  • Lily's initial Glass of Water videos discussing the negativity of Digibrony and Tommy Oliver become this with Season 5, where Lily has been at her most negative and bitter.
  • Lily's silent Pony OC slowly became increasingly tired and frustrated with Commander Firebrand in her appearances in Taking Too Seriously. Then comes the news that their real life friendship is over for much the same reason. Heck, pretty much everything involving her and Josh is this now.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • In Date Night - Town of Salem, Lizzy talks about how being bullied made her think that she's always the one ignored or overlooked, until her fanart got her noticed by Lily and let to them becoming friends. Lily totally doesn't cry here.
  • While Lily's line "Fuck you, Cishet scum!" in the Over A Barrel review was something of a funny jab at Tumblr, the line is put into a very different light once she came out as transgender.
• Misblamed: In her "Steven Universe is Garbage" video, Lily places the blame for everything she considers wrong with the show on series creator Rebecca Sugar. While Sugar is the creator of Steven Universe and contributed to the basic plot and characters, she is not the only person who works on the series - in particular, Lily's frequent gripes at the animation and storytelling actually come from the episodes' storyboarders, which, at the time of the video's upload, Rebecca herself had only contributed to 13 episodes out of 153. In comparison, the usual episode boarders were credited in anywhere from 30-40 episodes each.
• Overshadowed by Controversy: While she definitely had her fanbase beforehand, lately most people have primarily heard of her due to the falling out between her and Josh Scorcher, and that's almost all people know her for now if they weren't watching her before it all went down.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Lily's initial series, Rather Vocalized Illusion went through numerous style and presentation changes throughout its runtime. However, one thing that remained consistent was the terrible writing with broad and vague subjects like "The Arrogance of Age". Glass of Water, the spiritual successor to RVI has far less rambling scripts with each episode having a very distinct and specific topics.
  • Zig-Zagged. While her videos became more cohesive and streamlined, they've also arguably broken the base even more.
  • The literal Straw Man puppet's replacement with Billy is this, as using a Straw Man is generally seen on the internet as a good way to make the point you're making look bad.
• She Panned It, Now She Sucks!:
  • ''The Top Ten Worst Songs in MLP" has the highest dislike ratio and dissenting comments of any video Lily has ever made.
  • Lily got some flack for not liking the 100th episode because she felt the fan pandering was too much and that it was in her own words "Hasbro sucking off the fanbase". This was clarified with the phrase "Nobody in their right mind doesn't like being sucked off."
  • Lily lambasted Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep in both In A Minute and its own Glass of Water episode, both for its pendulum attitude to Luna's character development as well as its implicit attitude towards self-harm and suicide, going on to criticize how the series has handled its coddling of mental illnesses and perpetuating the idea that professional intervention is unnecessary and that warm words are all somebody needs. She later refused to put it on her worst episodes list for Season 5, stating that it wasn't an episode and rather "failure taken physical form." She instead gave the episode the "Lifetime Achievement Award for Total Disgust" stating that "filling the air time with those colored 'off air' bars would have been less of a mistake."
  • Crusaders of the Lost Mark was heavily criticized by Lily for supposedly doing nothing with its story, being a retread of Magical Mystery Cure, and naming it the (official) worst episode of Season Five, while the episode has gained almost universal praise from the rest of the Brony Analysis community.
  • Surprisingly averted with her opinions on the songs from The Mane Attraction, finding The Spectacle to be a hilarious parody poking fun at modern pop music (particularly cracking up at the autotune being lasered into Countess Coloratura's voice), Equestria, The Land I Love to be "bland but not shit" and The Magic Inside (a song nominated for an Emmy that is adored by practically the entire fandom) to be another terrible addition to the list of "be true to yourself" songs. Amazingly though, hardly anyone lost their minds over this, the expected reaction being parodied by this comment:
    "Oh, no, someone disagrees with me. I must rant about it. Insert angry narrow-minded rant here which sounds like I'm saying something important but I'm not"
    • Lily's response is even better:
    "Insert smug and dismissive rebuttal"
