YMMV / LEGO Worlds

  • Awesome Music: The Volcano theme, The Western theme, The Spooky theme, The Winter theme, and so much more. This soundtrack is basically The World Is Just Awesome all rolled up into a single collection of songs.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: The skeletons are the most popular choice of avatar by far. Mostly because they scream every time they attack something.
  • Goddamned Bats: When they aren't being chased, Troublemakers taunt the player by laughing, blowing raspberries, and making other annoying sounds. This quickly grows irritating, especially if the player is busy building something when the Troublemaker inevitably spawns right next to them, forcing the player to exit build mode to chase down the obnoxious Troublemaker and shut him up... only for the next Troublemaker to spawn several minutes later and repeat the process.
  • Most Wonderful Sound: Skeleton screaming, thanks to Memetic Mutation.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: In the released game, you can't unlock a minifig until you complete a specific requirement. For most non-hostile minifigs, this means completing a mission offered by that minifig. Unfortunately, it's completely random whether or not a particular minifig will even offer a mission. So, if you finally find a rare minifig you want and he/she is not offering a mission... too bad, you can't unlock that character.
  • That One Side Quest: The game's protection sidequests. Good luck killing all the enemies before they take out the minifig you're trying to protect.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: As one might tell from reading Steam reviews (such as this one), the greater emphasis on quests and missions (with three mandatory tutorial worlds, the requirement to collect golden bricks in order to access medium and large worlds, and needing to chase down Troublemakers just to be able to use common LEGO bricks) in the final retail release put off those who enjoyed the Early Access builds for being a Wide-Open Sandbox with all tools and bricks unlocked from the very start.
