YMMV / Kamen Rider Saber: Trio of Deep Sin

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: The opening shot which shows all the present members of the Sword of Logos (and Mei) has Touma and Daishinji in an... interesting position.
  • Ass Pull: Mumeiken Kyomu becoming sentient and stabbing Yuina for failing to fulfil her deal with it was never hinted at in the main show.
  • Awesome Music: The ending theme that plays during the credits, Bittersweet, is a cool and melodic song that nicely closes off the movie.
  • Bizarro Episode: Trio of Deep Sin plays out more like a J-drama with Slasher Movie elements rather than your typical Kamen Rider action movie. Tropes Are Not Bad, as the much more mature tone was met with immense praise by fans.
  • Evil Is Cool: The new white Falchion is definitely this, having a cool new design and being played as intimidating in almost every scene he appears in.
  • Genius Bonus: In a flashback showing Kento proposing to Yuina, he alludes to the djinn of the ring, who was also in the original Aladdin story yet is lesser known than its lamp-based counterpart.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Shinjiro Shinozaki/Kamen Rider Falchion is a member of the titular "Trio of Deep Sin" who seeks justice for the victims lost in the Swordsmen Riders' battles. Originally someone who worked to save people, after witnessing a battle between the Sword of Logos Riders and the Megid that resulted in many people dying, Shinozaki came to believe the Swordsmen Riders posed a danger to the world. Accepting an Amazing Siren Wonder Ride Book from Mamiya, Shinozaki works with him to covertly wipe all memory of the swordsmen from the individuals who knew of them, until the swordsmen are completely forgotten and erased from existence. Once he becomes the only one who remembers his son, Shinozaki reveals himself to Rintaro and challenges him to a one-on-one duel. After being fatally wounded by Rintaro, Shinozaki uses his last words to tell Rintaro how proud he is of him, remorseful that his death will cause his son to disappear.
  • Special Effect Failure: Minor case, but it's very obvious that some of the wounds are clearly photoshopped in, as shown when Touma gets slashed by Falchion.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Trio of Deep Sin has been incredibly well-received, even by those who weren't very keen on Kamen Rider Saber as a series. It also acts as this for the post-series V-Cinema films as whole, which had been infamously divisive for several years at that point.
  • Tough Act to Follow: Revice Forward: Kamen Rider Live & Evil & Demons was regarded as So Okay, It's Average, even without having to follow up on this one.
