YMMV / If You Give a Mouse a Cookie

Go To

  • Awesome Art: The show's art style looks like the books really came to life, which is beautifully partnered with the fluid and gorgeous animation done by series co-producer Mercury Filmworks.
  • Awesome Music:
    • The theme song of the Animated Adaptation on Amazon. It doesn't hurt that it starts with the show's title and is rather short and zippy, meaning that it can be easily memorized.
    • The songs (intended to be danced to) from the book-on-tape editions are insanely catchy; special mention goes to "The Mouse Cookie" and "Doin' the Moose."
  • Fridge Brilliance: The original story won't go round in a circle — Mouse has already trimmed his fur, so it'll stop once it gets to the looking in the mirror part.
  • He Really Can Act: Roger Craig Smith has only been in two preschool shows, and in minor supporting roles to boot. Here, he voices both Mouse and Moose, who are main characters, and he gives them a lot of charm that makes them likable.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Cat is male, but you wouldn't guess it at first because of his unisex design and his voice being provided by Lara Jill Miller.
