• Contested Sequel: The premise of the sequel series, namely the... more emphasized focus on ecchi and changing the relationship dynamics, does not sit well with some fans of the original who believe that all of its charm was lost in exchange.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Gorou's blood-related sister Kaede is very popular despite appearing rarely, due to being both a Cool Big Sis and Ms. Fanservice.
• Fan-Preferred Couple: Gorou and Mizuno, who are given quite a bit of Ship Tease. But they decide to just stay friends, with no hard feelings after getting into a fistfight over it. Many hoped otherwise. In the sequel they remain close.
