YMMV / Hollow Knight: Silksong

• Awesome Music: Christopher Larkin reprises his role from Hollow Knight as Silksong's main composer. A few music samples have been released, including the hauntingly beautiful and melancholic Bonebottom theme.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • From the first game, the Pale King has been significantly memed at for his seeming obsession with sawblades, since there are a lot of them installed in his White Palace. In the Nintendo Switch Announcement Trailer, we can see Hornet using a sawblade as a tool to kill her enemies. As the fans would say, Hornet is shaping up to be like her father.
  • Silksong is a Metroidvania that involves Hornet climbing up the game world to her main destination, unlike the Metroid games that inspired it which typically involve Samus Aran going deeper into the world. Yet this would also be the case with the actual 2021 Metroid game Metroid Dread (announced after Silksong but released first), which was noted from its earliest previews to involve Samus climbing back up to her ship on the planet's surface.
• Preemptive Shipping: While not widespread, some fans were quick to ship Hornet with Lace after the first trailer was released.
