- Nightmare Fuel: After Nedzu introduces Bakugou to Himiko to try and impart a lesson onto him, Bakugou dismisses his holier-than-thou attitude. As a response, Nedzu drops his cheerful, genial mask.Nedzu: Do you believe my paws to be clean? I told you before that I was experimented on and tortured. Do you believe any of those people are still alive? No. No, almost all of their bodies have since been recovered in one place or another. Perhaps I should tell you about how one of those scientists was found with no external injuries, but several organs missing? Or the other one who had an unfortunate accident where they were caught between two steamrollers? Or perhaps I should tell you about the lead of the project? A nasty piece of work, as brilliant as he was cruel. Had he not allowed his obsession to blind his morals, he could have revolutionized modern science. I believe it’s been about two weeks since they found the thumb from his right hand, so in another two weeks or so they should find half of his left foot. [...] The left half. Do you think I am a good person? I am a Hero. Do the lives I save outweigh my past?
- Tear Jerker: The crumbling of Mirio's relationship with Sir Nighteye after the latter accidentally reveals during an argument that he only saw the former as a Replacement Goldfish for All Might. Mirio got as far as he did (becoming one of the Big Three of his year, developing Permeation into the monster of a Quirk that it is in canon through hard work and experience, etc.) due to Sir Nighteye's tutelage and Mirio's belief that the former saw his value and potential as a hero. Finding out that he was little more than just a means to replace the Symbol of Peace after he declined One For All is rightfully portrayed as devastating for the young man, as it meant that all of his work was for nothing in the eyes of his mentor because he refused to follow what Nighteye wanted out of him. His robotic behavior and desperate attempt to hold back tears as he leaves Nighteye's agency for the last time, and Nighteye's own clear regret at what he's done is genuinely painful.
