- Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Makasu an abusive, manipulative thief who fights gods to gain power, or is he traumatized by his parental (specifically fatherly) abandonment, and just acts out towards people, especially people he's a father to, such as Back Pocket Dimension Flying Bear in an unhealthy defense mechanism?
- Awesome Music: Any of the songs written by hip-hop artist Father.
- Most of the intros count under this too.
- Broken Base: Season 2 is this to the Toonami community, with some people not enjoying it's absurd humor and American-ness, and some love it's satire of anime.
- Crosses the Line Twice: The entire sense of humor of the show is based around just taking every joke to its furthest extreme, which usually means being incredibly offensive in some way.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Bucket is a fan favorite, despite the fact she's only appeared in one episode for just a few minutes, and didn't appear again until The Stinger of season 2.
- Fetish Retardant: Any of the fanservice in Foot Fault is made completely unsexy by the show's strange artstyle.
- Iron Woobie: Back Pocket Dimension Flying Bear gets harrassed, abused, and berated by Makasu at nearly every second but still loves Makasu and is always cheery.
- Karmic Overkill: Makasu gets thrown into the sun for his thievery, which is way more of a punishment than needed. Though, he does come back in season 2.
- Nausea Fuel: At least once every episode. Makasu turning into an Akira-esque blob of flesh and body parts, freezing vomit onto his tennis racket, the rice porridge made out of blood, etc.
- Ugly Cute: Back Pocket Dimension Flying Bear, mainly ugly because of the artstyle.
