YMMV / Game Boy Camera

  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The dancing man in the fake "credits". It's not even known who it is—many sources claim Shigeru Miyamoto, but there's no actual confirmation, and the low-quality image makes it hard to tell.
  • Nightmare Fuel: You'd think a camera wouldn't give you nightmares? You'd be dead, dead, dead wrong... Some disturbing vandalized faces of Nintendo employees can appear labeled with the caption "Who are you running from?" alongside an unsettling noise. It can appear when you press "RUN" as jump scares, but it can also appear when the game has errors, such as the printer not working. Needless to say, this terrified a lot of unsuspecting children. See this for more information.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: The Game Boy Camera was a pretty significant technological advancement for its day, but most (if not all) people (especially those who haven't played it or weren't even born when it came out) know it for nowadays are its infamously terrifying Easter Eggs, to the point that they're one of the first things suggested by Google autocomplete if one looks up the system. It doesn't help that the faces are frequently included on Top Ten Lists such as "Creepiest Nintendo things" or "Creepiest Video Game Easter Eggs" on sites like Youtube or Cracked.
