• Audience-Alienating Premise: Despite the well written story, the first chapter alone, as explained in Broken Base caused a few readers to turn away from this fic.
• Broken Base: The twist of the first chapter. While many are okay for the nail, there are people who felt that the twist is too cruel on the protagonist and also very Out of character because the in game lore says that the Tapu's would have saved Nebby no matter what and so there is no reason for Tapu Koko to not help Nebby.
• Crack Pairing: Acerola and Ilima had a decent amount of Ship Tease in the story, despite having little to no interactions in the original games, anime adaptation, and manga adaptation. It is justified, however, as the author made a good effort to explore their past relationship as well as how their relationship fell apart.
• Like You Would Really Do It: While the author didn't kill off Luna from the beginning of the story, her situation isn't all that good either... And then there's the question of how there's another body that's identified as Luna's corpse.
