• Growing the Beard: Depending on who you ask, it was either Absolute Hope Absolute Hell or The Great Collapse where they truly grew their beard, though even proponents of the latter will still generally agree that Absolute Hope Absolute Hell was a source of major growth either way.
• Heartwarming Moments: Pat Sheridan trended on Twitter in June of 2020 when he pulled over to help a motorist who had pulled off on the side of the road, then went to grab gas for her because he "didn't want the cops pulling up to 'help [her]' and fucking with [her]" (as the woman was black) and, unbeknownst to him, wound up all over Twitter when the woman tweeted about the event.
• Memetic Badass: Nate Johnson; while he has not been in the band for years and has completely retired from music, he is something of a legend in the hardcore, metalcore, and deathcore scenes, and more generally within the Northeast and especially New England.
• Replacement Scrappy: Greg Wilburn. The general consensus was that while he definitely had the energy and the stage presence, he was a terrible fit vocally. Strongly subverted with Joe Badolato, as the fanbase generally holds him in high regard and sees him as the band's biggest source of growth.
• Signature Song: "Black Mammoth" and "The Sea of Tragic Beasts"
