• Complete Monster: Orin Hanner Sr. is a crooked coal company executive dumping toxic waste in the mines and environment of a small town, sickening its children and people. The town is slowly dying, the people wasting away to inevitable death as long as Hanner continues his activities. Driven solely by greed and abusing his son, Hanner also ensures he kills every agent who might expose him.

  • Marg Helgenberger played love interest Sarah Kellogg in this movie three years before she became more well-known as Catherine Willows in CSI.
  • Neal McDonough appears as a corrupt FBI agent partnered with an equally-corrupt Randy Travis.
• Special Effects Failure: During the climax, the light regularly changes between regular lighting and a black light. During the black light sequences, white shirts suddenly become bright purple, skin becomes dark purple, and glowing "toxic waste" pours out of barrels. During the regular lighting sequences, everyone has normal skin tones, non-neon clothing, and is clearly getting covered in dishwashing detergent.
• Spiritual Successor: To On Deadly Ground. Both movies are environmental themed, and both of them star Steven Seagal.
