The original series
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: It has several that were mentioned in exactly one or two sentences, then simply never turned up again.
- Case in point: the inexplicable Breaking the Fourth Wall moment by Byakuren in Mission Two. It was written very awkwardly, has utterly no bearing in the plot, and seems to be there solely because Summers wanted to do a Fourth Wall-breaking moment.
- Narm: A story whose entire premise is "High Fantasy magic versus Cyberpunk technologies" is surely a recipe for silliness... except that Fantasy Blitzkrieg still tried to treat it with utmost seriousness, with little to no humor to be seen anywhere.
- So Bad, It's Good: Despite it being so poorly written that its own author regretted writing it, Fantasy Blitzkrieg has a surprising amount of popularity, enough that three
other works note has borrowed the setting. Curiously enough, all three of them involved inter-dimensional travels.
Operation Alexandria
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Harrison surviving decapitation just long enough to announce "Nanomachines, son!" seems to be done for utterly no reason other than making a reference to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
- Crosses the Line Twice:
- Although Operation Alexandria is Bloodier and Gorier than the original series, it accepts that its "High Fantasy magic versus Cyberpunk technologies" setting is a rather silly one, and takes advantage of it whenever possible, including during the Alexandria Crew's murder spree against the Outside World's forces.
- Nazis gassing people? Not funny. Nazis getting gassed? Hilarious.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Karin Muyoka was an OC from Boundless World of Danmaku that Lt Colonel Summers borrowed for Fantasy Blitzkrieg with permission from Terry N Muse. But in Operation Alexandria, she only appeared for two chapters before getting unceremoniously dropped from the story due to Omega E not having permission from Terry. In December 2020, Boundless was deleted from Fanfiction Dot Net, thus making Fantasy Blitzkrieg and Operation Alexandria the only evidence of her existence left in the whole world wide web, and these two depictions of her have little to no characterization...
- Older Than They Think: Operation Alexandria is NOT the only Alternate Continuity Spin-Off of Fantasy Blitzkrieg that exists on Fanfiction Dot Net. A few years before Operation Alexandria came about, there was a series titled Multiversal Saviours: Gensokyo At War by Xovercreator which is a more faithful adaptation of the original series' Mission One with the addition of an OC called Richard Liu. However, it lasted only four chapters before going on an unannounced hiatus, and has not been updated ever since.
- Unexpected Character: This being a Touhou fanfiction, you probably never expected Tsurubami Senri and the rest of Mugenri to show up.
