• Alternative Character Interpretation: Considering that Webby is a big Scrooge fan and Beakley taught her how to free herself from ropes, is it possible that she let herself get caught due to the awe of seeing a legendary figure from Scrooge's past, or deliberately held back so Scrooge could have a classic adventure? (Though actually, Word of God reveals that Goldie just fights dirty with sufficient efficiency to trap Beakley, and since Beakley trained Webby she couldn't get out of the same tie.)
• Values Dissonance: Scrooge in the comics was more of a Jerkass to Goldie for stealing from him. He made her work on his claim for a month and paid her a pittance, keeping her as a slave. Understandably, this episode changes it so that they were equals from the start and Scrooge truly did nothing terrible to Goldie (assuming that Scrooge isn't an Unreliable Narrator, at least).
