Evil Is Sexy TRS; this has become an objective, in-universe trope.

* DracoInLeatherPants:
** Lord Siegfried "Siggy" Damaske.
** EvilIsCool and a limited amount of EvilIsSexy are in effect with Jacob, who is one of the most popular characters. It helps that he is redeemed later in the comic.

* EvilIsSexy: Many lowcut bustiers and skintight outfits for the female villains in particular, but men get their share as well. Most notable in Amelia Travoria, Helixa, and briefly, [[spoiler:Jayden]].

* TrueArtIsAngsty: Defied by WordOfGod; he had considered [[spoiler:killing off Luna for real]] at the end of the Maltak arc for a "powerful ending", then changed his mind because it would have destroyed Dominic and [[RealitySubtext he was experiencing that same sort of loss with his grandfather]] and that wasn't the sort of thing he wanted to write about at the time. The [[http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2010-01-06 accompanying newspost]] for the strip where [[spoiler:she comes back to life]] included him saying he doesn't believe the bravery or quality of a writer is measured by his "main character body count."

"Unfortunate Implications" is now Flame Bait.

* UnfortunateImplications: [[http://dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2011-02-04 This strip]] originally had in the second panel Elanora saying, "They'll actually take on the genetics of the recipient. It will truly be '''their''' child." After it went up, Mookie realized how it could be taken the wrong way, and promptly changed it to what's up there now.

* FanNickname:
** Before being given an official name, Quilt was called 'Patches' by the fandom.
** Some call '''T'''he '''I'''nferno'''M'''ancer... [[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail [=TIM=]]]?
** Readers have their own set of nicknames for most of their favorite minor characters, including Warlord Mustache, Punchy [=McStonefist=], Outrage Chief, and Snuggly/Squiggly, while Celesto earned the moniker "Collateral Damage Man" during the battle in Lynn's Brook. Meanwhile, snobby werewolf girl gets called "prejutits", the nameless mongrelwoman is dubbed "Bortette", and the unpleasant head tour lady is called "[[Film/{{Aliens}} Vasquez]]"[[note]]Mookie picked up on this one, and officially named her "Vazkes"[[/note]].
** The fans were likewise responsible for deciding the name of the [[Film/AnimalHouse "A Nimmel House"]] story arc.

* FanHater: To the extreme. John Solomon's line was that anyone who would defend ''Dominic Deegan'' was a morally bankrupt retard and so their arguments were automatically invalidated. Snarkers are more "tolerant", only describing fans as rather dull and a tad creepy. ([[WildMassGuessing John Solomon]] [[Literature/TheBible -> King Solomon -> King David ->]] [[BigBad King David Johann?]])

* CharacterDerailment: Lord Siegfried "Siggy" Damaske aims for nobility of purpose and for good to triumph over evil, but what he often hits is people. Like, in the face. Repeatedly. His brutality and quickness to anger are serious problems for this wannabe do-gooder. So far, so good. He has issues telling righteous fury apart from petty grievances, and at a low point he just flies off the handle and wails on an ally for getting between his roid rage and its target in order to keep his moronic ass from getting killed. He's aware of all this, he fights it, but ultimately his anger's stronger than he is and is the death of him. Also good. He turns out to have been a mass-murdering racist all along, he slept with his friend's girlfriend, and we sojourn to Hell where he savagely devours his father's severed, sentient head only to be hit with a MyGodWhatHaveIDone immediately afterward. This is where we start wondering if Siggy seduced the author's wife or something.

This is Flame Bait now.

* SnarkBait: This trope is so prevalent in regards to the comic, sometimes you have to wonder if most of the fanbase is just reading it to make fun of it. ''[[http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7694104 Just take a look.]]'' Discounting the current thread, there are 1294 pages, averaging slightly less than 30 posts a page. Most of the major forums are now dominated by people who are in it just for the snark.
