YMMV / Doctor Hauzer

Go To

  • Genre Turning Point: What the game manages to do with pulling off full 3D visuals on limited hardware was pretty novel for its time, and it's actually cited as an influence on Silent Hill's development.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: One of the most frequent criticisms of the game is its extremely-short length; it can be completed in two or three hours on a first playthrough.
  • Narm: Adams' wide-mouthed cat-eyed scare-face, especially when it accompanies one of The Many Deaths of You.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Doctor Hauzer was lauded for its 3D visuals and environments at release, and is the Ur-Example of Cel Shading in video games. Especially in contrast to Alone in the Dark, the visuals hold up much better than other early 3D games. It even features fully-rendered rooms and multiple camera perspectives, which Resident Evil lacked two years later on a more powerful system.
