• Jerkass Woobie: Maho is, in Momo's words, a violent delinquent and a narcissistic bitch. While this claim is not 100% right, it still has some facts in it. Maho skips classes just to get drunk in Ogin's bar. In a friendly match against St. Gloriana, Maho threatens her crews with violence if they dare to disobey her orders despite her duty is merely a radio operator. She also punch Momo for pissing her off, whether Momo deserves it or not is debatable. But Maho is deep down a scarred individual. Her mother had abused her for a long time, her old school ostracize her for saving her friends, her sister hates her, her father died shortly after they had an argument, and now she is burdened with a responsibility to bring a team of novices and beginners to win the tournament, knowingly that her old school is participating as well. No wonder she acts the way she does in the story.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Anzu Kadotani starts earning the readers' respect after she defies Shiho Nishizumi who is trying to take Maho out of Ooarai by force, and when she decides to punish Momo for her many Kick the Dog moments against Maho, their school's ace and biggest hope to win the tournament.
• The Scrappy: Momo Kawashima. She is not really that good of a gunner, her anger issue often almost jeorpadizes the whole team, and she barely has any reedeming quality outside senshadou field. The only thing that keeps her in Ooarai senshadou club is her position in Absurdly Powerful Student Council.
• Take That, Scrappy!: Momo finally gets humbled by Maho in Chapter 36 after doing way too many Kick the Dog moments against her own captain.
