- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: After Death Kappa first gets knocked down by Hangyolas in the final battle; a helicopter, carrying what can only be the world’s largest cucumber, flies over to Death Kappa who proceeds to eat the cucumber before getting back up.
- Fridge Brilliance: The tag line describing how King Kong is dead and that Godzilla is retired works in a meta sense: The most recent King Kong movie was a remake of the original and ends with the titular monster's death, and Godzilla: Final Wars was Godzilla’s last movie before Toho retired him until 2014.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Some elements of the plot for this movie are very similar to Daimajin Kanon, specifically the fact that both had an aspiring female singer as the human protagonist and a specific song that can control the titular kaiju, and both came out the same year.
- Memetic Mutation: "Now is the time to restore true Showa ambition!" Spoken by Hideaki Anno's character. It has jokingly been referenced in regards to his directing of Shin Godzilla.
- Narm: The English dub is definitely this especially during the deaths in Hangyolas’ rampage.
