Awesome Music: "Rescue Me", "Indecision", "Insecure", "False Alarm"note especially the "Club Mix" version, "Help You Out", "For You"...let's make a long story short and say every song.
Cliché Storm: An interesting zig-zag. Their lyrics were unique compared to other acts at the time, being gloomy and slightly introspective. However, their accompaniment, whilst extremely catchy, did little to stand out compared to other groups. Thus, people ignored their lyricism and dismissed them as nothing but more of the same, and they quickly vanished without a trace.
Harsher in Hindsight: The sorrowful lyrics in most of their songs, given the short time the band was active, their subsequent disappearance from the music scene, and their status today, where they are utterly forgotten.
Narm: Amos' extremely high-pitched and nasal-sounding voice, which is clearly trying to channel Boy George but coming up short.
Narm Charm: A band with some of the most cliche-sounding synthesiser riffs in music history, set to depressing, ominous, & painful lyrics? Sounds quite daft...and yet, it works.note Granted, it may not have worked for listeners back in '85/'86, leading to their unpopularity & fall into obscurity.
Unintentional Period Piece: Even for a Synth-Pop band from smack dap in the middle of The '80s, they're pretty damn 80's. To the point that if you wanted to define Synth-Pop quickly & easily for someone, just play one of their songs, and they'd instantly understand what you mean.
