YMMV / Camp Counselor Jason

Go To

  • Accidental Aesop: The Aesop of the Carrie crossover seems to be "if somebody is lashing out, give them some comfort and calm them down." Jason stepping in to help Carrie manages to avert a horrific tragedy.
  • Catharsis Factor:
    • A lot of people cheered when Pamela straight-up stabbed Margaret for what she's done to Carrie. The same people were sighing in relief when Jason comforted Carrie and gave her a happy ending.
    • Likewise, the hilariously humiliating deaths the convicts from The Last House on the Left suffer from at the (indirect) hands of Jason, especially if you've seen both the original film and it's remake.
  • Fridge Brilliance:
    • The entire reason for Dr. Loomis and Michael Myers respective Adaptational Villainy and Adaptational Heroism is because the Curse of Thorn moved from Myers to Loomis much earlier than canon, meaning that Loomis' psychotic actions aren't because he is naturally a psychopath or a bad person in this universe, but because the Curse of Thorn is making him believe that he is the "hero" fighting against the "evil" Michael Myers.
    • In the original Halloween films, Michael tended to use his arms only for acts related to killing: for example, he usually didn't use his arms to push himself up after getting knocked on his back. In the webcomic, Michael uses actions related to killing in order to perform mundane tasks - for example, stabbing a fuse box to repair it.
  • Unexpected Character: While the comic has branched out into featuring characters from other horror franchises such as Halloween, Carrie (1976), and The Last House on the Left, no one thought the crossover would feature the old man from Night of the Demons (1988) who gets killed by Michael Myers after one of the man's Razor Apples cut up Laurie Strode's hand.
