YMMV / Bumper Wars

• Art-Style Clash: All pickups in the game are represented by 2D shapes with a picture of what you get on them except for the power cells which are a 3D object. Granted they are a unique pickup as they refill your energy, provide a defensive shield, and restore some health but it still feels odd that they are the only pickup with a 3D model.
• Awesome Music: There are only 5 songs in the game (6 if you count the one that plays during the credits), and they're all awesome.
• Narm: This game is chock-full of it, especially with how hammy the Zeddite who talks to you throughout the game is.
• They Copied It, So It Sucks!: The game did face some criticism of being a Twisted Metal ripoff.
• Token Human: It's unclear whether there are any other humans in this setting. You're on the Zedd planet but they clearly take prisoners from anyone who happens to violate their airspace. You are shown to be a human in the death screen and the Zeddite who belittles you throughout the game refers to you as human, so we know for certain you are supposed to be from Earth. The only other vaguely described character in the game just has the characteristics of being big and having bad teeth. He could be an alien of some type as well.
• What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: The primary vehicle for selling this violent game about a cruel alien society that forces prisoners to kill each other in gladiatoral combat was... Scholastic book fairs? Most PC games sold through them were at least somewhat educational but Bumper Wars is a very straightforward vehicle combat game based in a fictional (and incredibly bleak) universe.
