- Perhaps with a side of Poignant In Hindsight, but the opening credits sequence has Daphne Heap rehearsing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Astrodome, then berating the all-Black band, leading them to rebel against her and play "Lift Every Voice and Sing"
instead. In 2020, in recognition of racial justice issues, the NFL played "Lift Every Voice and Sing" before every game in the first week of the season, and they've also had it performed at other high profile games (including the Super Bowl) since then.
