  • Ass Pull: The bits of foreshadowing that Mazey Day was bitten by a werewolf note  - before the big reveal - don't necessarily lead the viewer to that conclusion, so the twist can feel out of left field.
  • Audience-Alienating Ending: Or rather, Audience Alienating Climax. The twist of the episode, showing that the titular character was bitten by a werewolf and that apparently it's a normal enough occurrence in-universe for a celebrities' specialty doctor to known how to treat, thus making an abrupt Genre Shift to Urban Fantasy, can feel too ridiculous to be believable and be taken seriously. Specially taking into account that all previous episodes, despite a few experimentations here and there, remained mostly consistent on being part of a series known as a Thriller with Sci-Fi elements.
  • The Woobie: Given the episode's ending, Mazey emerges as the only remotely sympathetic character. Not only is she pursued by paparazzi who want to sell her misery to the press, but she is also bitten by a werewolf and must undergo a painful transformation while said paparazzi photograph her suffering. Worst yet, after her werewolf instincts take over and she kills multiple people before being shot herself, she bleeds out painfully and begs Bo to shoot her, before being handed the gun and forced to end her own life while Bo photographs the act.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Quickly earned its reputation as one of, if not the, worst episode in the entire show due to its twist revolving around supernatural elements rather than the show's science fiction roots.
