• Funny Moments:
  • During the Zelina Vega vs. Rhea Ripley match in the 2023 edition, Zelina's mother, who is in the audience along with the rest of Zelina's family, gives her baby girl a slipper. While most people would be confused as what it is, Latin American fans will know that it is the most powerful weapon of them all. La chancla. Zelina decides to throw the slipper at Rhea's face.
  • As Samantha Kelly introduces AJ Styles in his match against Cody Rhodes in the 2024 edition, the French audience is singing a party song^note Il est vraiment phénoménal by Phenomenal Club and bouncing that momentarily causes the camera to bounce as if an earthquake struck all while you can clearly see AJ Styles trying not to crack by aggressively chewing his gum.
  • During the Kevin Owens and Randy Orton match against Solo and Tama Tonga, Kevin Owens does a dive off a barricade. Orton later goes to that barricade, looks down and...jumps off.
  • If you thought the Puerto Rico crowd was loud last year, the French crowd had a lot of fun with the chants in Backlash 2024, whether it's the singing for AJ Styles, chanting for Charles Robinson or Samantha, going Pas (No) Yeet during Damian Priest vs Jey Uso or even stating how they're not tired from the chanting despite being two hours into the PLE.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • The 2023 edition, taking place in Puerto Rico, has the entire arena cheering Zelina Vega on in her match against Rhea Ripley. Zelina breaks down in tears when she is announced, dressed up in the colors of the Puerto Rican flag and with her family in the audience. Even though she lost, the crowd rises in standing ovation for her. Bonus points, the crowd chants a Puerto Rican saying, "Yo soy Boriqua, pa que tu lo sepas" = "I'm Puerto Rican, just so you know".
  • In the 2024 edition, Jey Uso's entrance had everyone turn on their phones ala Bray Wyatt's fireflies as they treated him like he was a rockstar. In the post-match interview, he was so awed to see how much the French crowd adored him and that he hadn't seen the fireflies since Bray Wyatt's passing.
• Just Here for Godzilla: The 2023 edition had fans watching for either the Zelina Vega/Rhea Ripley match or Bad Bunny/Damian Priest, due to the pay-per-view being held in Puerto Rico since New Year's Revolution 2005, with Zelina, Bad Bunny and Damien Priest hailing from Puerto Rico.
• Memetic Mutation: 1...2...Simpelment 2!^ExplanationOn the 2024 edition of Backlash, being held in France, the audience would always react to a 2-count with "Simpelement 2!" (only a 2). One could performing a drinking game as to how many times it was said throughout the PLE.
• Rooting for the Empire:
  • John Cena was heavily booed in the 2006 event despite being face, with the crowd cheering for his opponents Triple H (especially with the heavy Foreshadowing of D-Generation X's reformation in recent weeks) and Edge. This was during the beginning of Cena's X-Pac Heat.
  • Despite being the heel, the crowd cheered harder for IYO SKY than for the face champion Bianca Belair during their Raw Women's Championship match in 2023.
• Signature Scene:
  • 1999: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs The Rock in the rematch from WrestleMania XV.
  • 2000: The Rock defeating Triple H for the WWF Title (his fourth World title overall).
  • 2001: Shane McMahon leaping off of the titantron onto Big Show.
  • 2002: Hulk Hogan winning his sixth WWF championship (his twelfth and final World title overall).
  • 2003: Goldberg making his WWE in-ring debut against The Rock.
  • 2004: Chris Benoit making Shawn Michaels tap via sharpshooter, or Mick Foley dropping Randy Orton back-first onto a pile of thumbtacks.
  • 2005: Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan teaming up against Muhammad Hassan and Daivari.
  • 2006: John Cena vs Triple H vs Edge for the WWE Title or Shawn Michaels teaming up with "God" against Vince and Shane McMahon.
  • 2007: Batista vs The Undertaker - Last Man Standing for the World Heavyweight Championship or John Cena vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Edge for the WWE Title.
  • 2008: Triple H winning his seventh WWE championship (his twelfth World title overall).
  • 2009: Edge capturing his 9th World Championship.
  • 2016: AJ Styles defeating DeanAmbrose to win the WWE World Championship (his first of two overall).

  • 2022: Rhea Ripley's helping Edge defeat AJ Styles and officially joining The Judgement Day.
  • 2023: Either Zelina Vega vs Rhea Ripley, particularly for Zelina's Puerto Rico inspired outfit and the standing ovation from the crowd, or Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest, particularly for Carlito's appearance.
  • 2024: The intro to Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles when the French audience sings "Il es vermaint Phenomenal" accompanied by a bouncing camera focused on AJ Styles. Alternatively the fireflies entrance for Jey Uso.

• So Bad, It's Good:
  • The 2020 edition's Tag Team match with Street Profits and Viking Raiders. See below.
  • For those who didn't it take too seriously, the Zombie Lumberjack match during the 2021 edition was this in a hilarious kind of way.
• Tough Act to Follow: The 2023 edition had fans note that the street fight of Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest should've been the main event instead of Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar.
• Unexpected Character: In the 2023 edition, no one expected the returns of Carlito and Savio Vega to come to the aid of Bad Bunny in his Street Fight against Damian Priest.
