• Arc Fatigue: By Season 5, the viewers were so tired of all the mystery building up that the author decided to drop it all once in one episode: Evan confessed everything and Tucker and Hunter took care of Sam in an Anti-Climax, so we could get direct to the wedding.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Dani, so much that she was prominent in both "Faux" and "Anon".
• Ho Yay:
  • It's implied Trevor also wants Kyle. Chelsea is aware of this while Kyle remains oblivious, until several years later.
  • In an alternate interpretation there can also be a lot of Belligerent Sexual Tension between Kyle and Tucker.
  • For Season 7, we get Jax/Nate.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
  • Chesea after the Time Skip, where she turns into a very cool mom.
  • In the middle of Season 7, Miranda starts getting a better development once her issues get resolved.
• The Scrappy
  • Taylor has a lot of hate, and surprisingly enough, she has avoided being a major threat in all the seasons despite being the stereotypical Alpha Bitch.
  • For some of the viewers, also Chelsea is this. She keeps complaintning online about having a terrible life, has selfsteem issues and overreacts for everything, despite having a relatively wealthy environment, good friends, two hot boys in love with her and good grades.
  • Ryan also has a lot of dumbass moments, where one wonders if he is really being an Innocent Bigot or really a jerk. Many of the commenters consider he doesn't deserve Candace ( specially after he responded with a "by ME?" when she announced her pregnancy)
    • Reason why most of the fanbase applauded when Connor beats the crap out of him after this.
• Ship-to-Ship Combat:
  • Most of the comments in each video has the fans fighting whether Chyle or Chucker should happen.
  • In a secondary level, Dani/Ian and Dani/Hunter is another issue.
  • Seasons 8 and 9 has Candace and Ryan's original shippers going head to head with the new Candace and Damian shippers.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Most of the visual appeal of the show comes from custom content and special pose Mods, that makes everything look pretty and neat.
• The Woobie:
  • Evan. The guy is a loner who attempted suicide. Even the characters are sorry for him, being his first visitors at home, and they had the intention of kicking his ass at first because he tried to kiss Chelsea in a photobooth.
  • Dani. Her mother made her abort the baby she was going to have with Bryce and she is always cheerful with all the pain deep inside.
