• Hype Backlash: Due to the early reports hyping up Angela's abilities, plenty of fans had this reaction. Diva Dirt especially scoffed at it when the reports first surfaced. Part of this is due to misreading the report. It said Angela was as athletic as the likes of Gail Kim and some Japanese women - not that she was as good in the ring as them.
• Narm Charm: The FCW official coronation for her was very silly - especially with the plastic tiara she had as her title - but yet there was still something sweet about it.
• Nightmare Fuel: Black Lotus is a very eerie character. It's underlined by how different it is from Angela's previous Face persona in wrestling. Who knew she could play a Femme Fatale so well?
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
  • WWE took a woman who was very naturally athletic and caught onto wrestling very quickly...and then they call her up to be an announcer. Angela even questioned the reasoning of them trying to make Jamie Keyes a wrestler when she preferred being an announcer - and ended up asking for her release due to not liking in-ring work.
  • Lucha Underground too did not put her in a wrestling role until Ultima Lucha II, and she still hasn't wrestled a complete match in Season 3 (due to Angela becoming pregnant). Fans of her work in FCW were hoping to see her mix it up with the likes of Sexy Starr and Ivelisse Velez. At least Black Lotus's storyline itself was interesting.
