YMMV / Andro Melos

Go To

  • Continuity Lockout: For non-Japanese fans of Ultra Series, just the fact that Andro Melos existed would lay an impact in the recent media afterwards when elements of said series is brought up (such as the case in Ultraman X).
  • Cult Classic: Its from the old media of Ultra Series that eventually went obscured in the recent years, but it does garner a lot fans in that period and becomes something akin to an urban legend.
  • Dancing Bear: This work is well known as the first Tokusatsu in Japan to receive a home video treatment.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Two examples from the Ultra Super Legend manga.
    • Andro Flor took a lady named Kei Miyuki as her human host. The girl's name is interestingly Two First Names in the Japanese culture, and is also the first names of the Shirogane siblings in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.
    • While hunting Flor's human host, Gina even took a human form of her own and uses a gun of her own. In Ultraman X, the returning Gina Spectre was meant to have a monster costume of her own, but director Koichi Sakamoto felt that it won't work, so he requested Gina's actress, Minami Tsukui to do her own action scenes in the filming location, thus rendering Gina Spectre as a human form instead of a monster.
  • Retroactive Recognition: The singer of Andro Melos opening was Ichiro Mizuki, who would went on to sing the opening of the well-received Ultraman Orb.
