- Chapter 129 shows that we've just been seeing an island of honesty and kindness within the Magic Knights — outside of the Black Bulls, there's widespread, systemic corruption within the organization in which the Magic Knights would physically assault and sexually abuse citizens for any reason they felt like, and the lack of accountability meant the Knights could always keep these incidents under wraps. These incidents are so common that they turned Zora into the first true anti-hero of the series, and they're so widespread that Asta is the first genuinely good-hearted Magic Knight he met as an adult.
- Chapter 142 begins forming a line of wham episodes. William Vangeance is revealed as sharing the same body as Licht.
- Chapter 147 has the Wizard King die from his wounds by Licht.
- Chapter 148 reveals that the Licht who is the acting Big Bad is actually not Licht. It's Patry, an elf boy who looks up to Licht and is reincarnated into Vengeance's body while looking like Licht.
- In Chapter 149, the elves are reincarnated into bodies of members of the Clover Kingdom.
- Chapter 195: Yuno is already fighting Patry, Rhya, and Ronne while the others are catching up. Suddenly, Ronne takes Yuno's magic stone while speaking of the debt being repaid. Rhya questions Ronne about what's he is saying, but gets attacked by Ronne who is possessed by one who is neither elf or human.
- Chapter 196: Ronne was possessed by Zagred, who reveals himself as the true mastermind behind the elf massacre as he tricked humans into attack elves, Licht falling to despair, and Patry falling into revenge as planned! Asta shows up and while Yuno is relieved to see him, the Devil is also more than happy to see Asta.
- Chapter 197: Zagred reveals to Patry that he is the one that he used forbidden Reincarnation Magic, not Licht! It turns out that the first Wizard King and Licht foiled Zagred 500 years ago, so Zagred picked Patry as his pawn in his plans to have his incarnation completed.
- Chapter 201: Licht, Charla, and Yami cooperate in fighting Zagred and then... did Nero just talk?!
- Chapter 203: The statue of the first Wizard King outside Hage Village is the first Wizard King. He was sealed for 500 years in that form by none other than Nero, who's actually a woman. Apparently, the return of Zagred means the Godzilla Threshold has been crossed, and Nero instructs Finral on how to undo the seal on both the Wizard King and herself.
- Chapter 205: The huge Demon God that attacked the Clover Kingdom was Licht. Succumbing to despair after the elves' massacre, he chose to let The Corruption overtake him as opposed to being possessed by Zagred. Lumiere's (the first Wizard King) actions against the Demon God suddenly have elements of Mercy Kill. As for Secre, her transformation into Nero was the result of her using her Sealing Magic and the Magic Stones to seal Lumiere.
- Chapter 214: All death-related here. First, Patry is denied his chance to join the other elves in death, being forced by Rades into the artificial body once used by Licht. The reason: Rades wants Patry to suffer and comprehend the extent of his evil...before Rades comes to claim Patry's life himself. Second, Lumiere's borrowed time runs out and his body finally crumbles, but at least the first Wizard King goes knowing the Clover Kingdom is well on the path towards his dream. Finally, it turns out Julius, master of Time Magic and current Wizard King, found a way to cheat death: enough accumulated Time Magic to reverse his own clock after Patry killed him. When he's discovered alive again, he's reverted to being only 13 years old.
- Chapter 215/216: Now that it's known Asta is cursed by a devil, one of the following will happen according to Julius: Either Asta dies, the Clover Kingdom is destroyed, or both of the aforementioned.
- Chapter 222: The Reveal when Noelle confronts Dorothy about the connections between her mother and devils. It is revealed that Acier was killed by a devil's curse not by Noelle's birth and only Nozel knows about this which is why he only told Dorothy about it. Why? It's because those who spoke out its name dies and he didn't tell the truth to protect Noelle and his siblings but Dorothy's Dream World is immune to effects. The devil that killed Acier is named Megicula.
- Chapter 227: The previous chapters had Asta and company involved in a couple battles with extremely powerful mages, but it's eventually revealed to be a demonstration and test of just what they're up against if they wish to confront Megicula, who's taken over the Spade Kingdom and threatens the other three. Meanwhile, the other Black Bulls scout out the Diamond Kingdom and discover it's already been curb-stomped by a single mage. The level of danger involved is invoked by Luck, for the first time, not wishing to fight this adversary.
- Chapter 232: Yuno has been promoted to Vice-Captain of the Golden Dawn!
- Chapter 233: Yuno is met by Ralph of the Spade Kingdom who is on the run from the Dark Triad who rules it and leading the invasions against the Kingdoms. He then tells Yuno that he is not only of the Spade Kingdom but also a royal prince of the Grinberryall family!
- Chapter 234: The two bombshells being that Yuno got a good look in the past via Ralph's Memory Magic of how he was delivered to Hage Village by Ralph's father on the run from the Dark Triad but it doesn't explain Asta who was delivered there with Yuno. The second? The Golden Dawn are under attack by the Spade Kingdom lead by one of the three Dark Triad's Zenon!
- Chapter 235: The Dark Triad's two of the elite soldiers, the Dark Disciples, also can use powers of the devils and while they can use 40% of its power; the Dark Triad can use 80%! The difference of power is shown that while William who's still captain takes on Zenon, Yuno just arrived just to see the majority of the Golden Dawn bloodied and/or likely killed by just the Dark Disciples! The fact that Yuno is furious in an understatement!
- Chapter 237: Just as things were looking up for Yuno, Klaus, and Letoile who defeated the two of the Dark Disciples while surviving; William falls to Zenon in what looks to be an utter Curb-Stomp Battle!
- Chapter 238: Death-related here. Klaus and Letoile are mortally wounded and possibly killed in the process by Zeno, and then Zenon uses only 55% of his Devil's power to curb-stomp Yuno who's in Spirit Dive and with Sword of Zephyr spell in utter fashion! By the time Ralph arrives, William was taken and Yuno is dying while impaled by Zenon's bone sword and Sylph crying for him to wake up! To put it shortly; the Golden Dawn, the best of the knight squads of the Clover Kingdom above the Black Bulls, were utterly crushed by what was just a small taste of the Spade Kingdom's true power.
- Chapter 255: Vanica successfully captures Lolopechka and detonates the devil power in her Dark Disciples, turning them into curse bombs. The panels show giant explosions that destroy much of the Heart Kingdom before the story switches back to the fight between Yami and Dante.
- Chapter 260: Although he manages to defeat Dante after a grueling battle with Asta's help, Yami is captured by Zenon anyways in spite of the Black Bulls' efforts. Now the Dark Triad have the mages needed to form the Tree of Qliphoth and bring devils into the living world.
- Chapter 267: The full appearance of both Asta's Devil and Asta's mother. Also, Asta's Devil is implied to be not as evil as initially thought.
- Chapter 268: The reveal of why Asta's Devil, named Liebe was in Licht's grimoire. Lowest of the low due to not having any magic, he somehow survived crashing into the gate that separates the Underworld from humans, and found himself in the human world. He was eventually adopted by Licita, Asta's mom, who left Asta at the church due to her body's condition, believing it would be harmful to her newborn. Liebe was later possessed by Lucifero, who then fatally attacked Licita to take control of Liebe's body. He was warded off, and as a last resort to save Liebe from further possession from Lucifero, Licita sealed him inside Licht's grimoire before dying. Liebe's end goal is to kill the entire Devil race, even if he has to use Asta's body to do it.
- Chapter 279: Morris is not only revealed to be a Devil host, but his magic gives him an ability to extract and transplant information from anyone... including Lolopechka's Wisdom of the fellow Heart Princesses! He uses her wisdom to find a way to accelerate the Tree of Qliphoth's process! As a result, the First Gate to the Underworld is opened and two devils have been released who are of the highest ranks as they immediately struck Jack!
- Chapter 306: There's a fourth, oldest Zogratis who groomed his younger siblings to become devil hosts. Zenon did not want that, and became rivals with Allen, who looked identical to Asta, in becoming commander of Spade's Mage Defense Force. However, after killing Allen to defeat a devil and save the kingdom Zenon mentally broke and believed that power is everything, leading him to ask his oldest brother to make him a devil host anyway. The chapter ends with Zenon making a devil with Beelzebub himself to gain more power.
- Chapter 308: Yuno's wind magic isn't actually his true magic. The wind magic and his grimoire are in truth of Licht and Tetia's son, whose soul has been in Yuno this entire time and stayed after the reincarnation magic was dispelled. Yuno, upon learning this from the soul within him, gains his true Spade grimoire and gets back up for his fight against Zenon.
- Chapter 317: Despite saving Yami and Vangeance and destroying Lucifero's blob of combined devils, the second Qliphoth gate devil appears anyways, only to warn everyone to get out of there because Lucifero himself is now half-manifested. He makes his appearance using his magic to make everyone bow their heads by making them fall into the ground and appears right next to a terrified Asta who just used up his Devil Union, angry at him for trying to prevent his manifestation.
- Chapter 331: Several major reveals. Yuno’s mother is alive! And Asta finally realizes that Licita was his mother. But the biggest occurs when Damnnatio confronts Julius over his research revealing that Megicula wasn’t one of the supreme devils. One’s still missing. Namely, Astaroth the time devil, and worse is that there’s only one time user on record, namely Julius himself, aka the previously unseen fourth Zogratis sibling; Lucius Zogratis! And on cue, Adrammelech arrives with Lucifero’s heart!
- Chapter 351: Judgement day begins as promised, and Lucius officially invades Clover Kingdom alongside a band of Paladins he brought with him. A man resembling Nacht Faust shows up in front of Jack the Ripper and blows a hole on his chest and cuts off his arm, only for Yami to notice that it's actually Morgen Faust, Nacht's long-dead brother, with Light Magic. Then Morris shows up to fight the Crimson Lions, and Acier Silva, the deceased Silva matriarch shows up in front of her offspring to fight them.
