Alpine Climbers is a 1936 Mickey Mouse cartoon, directed by David Hand.

Mickey, Donald Duck and Pluto scale a mountain in search of eagle eggs.

Alpine Climbers provides examples of:

  • Alcohol Hic: After guzzling a lot of brandy, Pluto gets drunk, complete with full hiccup flourish.
  • Alcohol-Induced Bisexuality: Drunken Pluto also seems overly enamored with the (probably male) St. Bernard.
  • Drunken Glow: At the end of the cartoon, both Pluto and the Saint Bernard are drunk, and their noses flash red for the Iris Out.
  • Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress: Pluto briefly avoids falling when he walks in the air, managing to grab one ledge of the mountain, but the rock attached to him makes him fall anyway.
  • Gone Behind the Bend: Donald chases a baby goat around a rock, only for the goat to step right out and watch Donald go in circles to the point of creating a circular trench around the rock before noticing the baby goat at the top of the rock.
  • Heli-Critter: Donald uses his tail as a helicopter at the climax while trying to grab himself onto mickey and to reduce his falling speed when the eaglets destroy the rope attached to the eagle.
  • Mama Bear: The eagle immediately attacks Mickey when she spots the mouse trying to steal her eggs.
  • Oh, Crap!: Donald has this reaction when he notices that he didn't grab the little goat, but his father.
  • "Oh, Crap!" Smile: Mickey spots one of these when he's caught stealing eggs by the eagle.
  • Papa Wolf: The goat attacks Donald when his son hides in his cave and Donald pulls his beard, but in a rare instance of this trope, he ends up losing to Donald's tougher head.
  • Pacing a Trench: Donald creates a trench around a rock trying to chase the baby goat before noticing he's at the top of the rock.
  • Proj-egg-tile: In desperation, Mickey attacks the eagle with her own eggs, but it backfires hard on the mouse as instead of splattering, the eggs hatch, and the eaglets attack Mickey to protect their mother.
  • Saint-Bernard Rescue: Pluto is rescued by one of these when he falls in the snow and comes out blue and frigid, regaining his heat, but becoming drunk.
  • Scaling the Summit: The main plot of the short, where Mickey, Donald, and Pluto scale a mountain looking for edelweiss and eagle eggs and wind up tangling with a mountain goat and the mother eagle.
  • Smashed Eggs Hatching: Mickey tries to hit the eagle with her eggs, but each time they hit, the eggs hatch into eaglets, who are already able to fly and attack Mickey.
  • Through a Face Full of Fur: The Saint Bernard takes Pluto out of the snow and finds him completely blue and rigid. After pouring brandy down his throat, a swirl of color starts at Pluto's belly and travels out to his extremities, restoring his natural color.
  • Use Your Head: The goat naturally does this to attack Donald's rear, however, Donald has a tougher head as he knocks out the goat, sending it flying to a nearby tree.
