Filmento is a YouTube channel discussing both older and current live action movies. Compared to other online movie reviewers, however, he usually doesn't give conventional reviews of the movies in their entirety, instead choosing to break down and analyze their main strength or their damning weakness.

His most well known series are Anatomy of a Failure and Film Perfection, which are series where he goes over either 3 related things a (usually considered bad) movie does wrong in the case of Anatomy of a Failure, or 3 related things a (usually considered good) movie does right in Film Perfection, and how that contributes to those movies' perception by general audiences.

Filmento contains examples of:

  • Berserk Button: He doesn't go berserk, but he has voiced his dislike for Paul Dano as an actor due to the fact that most of his characters are crying, screaming, or being humiliated in nearly every movie he's in to the point where it caused Filmento to develop a psychological hatred towards him and see him as a crybaby.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: In his video on Assassin's Creed (2016), he says the protagonist is like a hamster running along a wheel, which quickly gets old. Meanwhile, a clip of actual hamsters in a wheel plays, with the on-screen caption of the literal version being Actually Pretty Funny.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!invoked: One of his main criticisms with Uncharted (2022), which pulls most of its action scenes straight from the games, which, due to the constraints of film as a medium, ultimately results in a lesser experience.
  • Moral Event Horizoninvoked: Wanda's actions in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are described as a prime example of how not to handle this trope. Specifically, Filmento considers her to have irreversibly crossed the line when Wanda kills countless sorcerers at Kamar-Taj, including wounded ones simply trying to survive. Immediately afterwards however, she forgets about her previous ruthlessness and goes back to trying to negotiate with Wong and Strange, which turns Wanda into what he calls a "Yoyo villain". Filmento also questions the logic of the movie making dreamwalking into a greater sin than the aforementioned mass-murder.
  • Non-Indicative Name: His Anatomy Of A Failure series includes videos on movies that were financially successful as well as movies that he personally enjoyed. In those cases, the video tends to be about individual narrative or storytelling elements that held it back in one way or another.
  • Pretentious Pronunciation: Inverted whenever he talks about Assassin's Creed (2016), which he calls "Ass-Ass-in's Creed".
  • Running Gag:
    • Whenever he shows clips of characters giving incredibly drawn out or boring exposition, he dubs over the audio with Sans' sound effects.
    • He tends to play an instrumental version of Passenger's Let Her Go whenever he wants to express lightheartedness in a negative manner, such as when a story is too easy and devoid of stakes or when pointing out an easy resolution to the plot.
    • Using Paul Dano, who he belives is typecasted as always playing whiny Butt Monkeys, as an example of when a character is too whiny. Usually takes the form of a clip compilation of Dano characters crying.
