Fate/Solar Shadow is an Actual Play D&D 5E campaign that was run by Nat19

  • The Dungeon Master was Logan Laidlaw

Fate/Solar Shadow has had several campaigns and games in its Continuity Set within the 1920's Nasuverse

The Idelian Void is about a group of people hired to remove an artifact causing chaos on the magically hidden island of Idelia.

The Incinerator side stories are about a group of highly skilled mages and fighters sent on missions generally considered suicidal, with the promise of great rewards for those that manage to survive.

The Moon Festival Grail war returns to Ian and Isla, two characters from the Idelian Void taking part in a grand fight against other mages to gain a wish.

Fate/Solar Shadow contains examples of:

  • Affably Evil: Sasaki Kojiro helps the party in many occasions but he still is a invokedNeutral Evil Lich who possesses other peoples bodies and attacks party's valuable allies.
  • Alliterative Name: David Durn.
  • Anti-Magic: Effectively what Lancer's magic resistance can accomplish. Can be utilised offensively against buffs and rituals, or defensively; negating up to a certain magic level of power.
  • Anyone Can Die: Four out of the Seven player characters from the Idelian Void campaign die
  • Arch-Enemy: After the events of the Idelian Void campaign the twins' former employer Orla has become this to Isla. At least for the first half of the Holy Grail War, though this has changed.
  • Bargain with Heaven: After David's former employer's destruction, he accepts being contracted under Type-Luna.
  • Big Brother Instinct: David's entire crusade under employment for his different magical employers is in the promise of a solution to his little sister's incurable illness.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: David is a half-elf.
  • Hat Damage: After nearly escaping a battle near death, David notices an earlier attack has invoked this trope. This then enrages him to avenge it via killing all remaining enemies while brutally injured.
  • In-Series Nickname: Jeanne is called "Malaclypse" by other characters more than he is his actual name.
  • In the Blood: Eventually revealed that Quantavius, the father of Ian and Isla, is a flesh made prison for a powerful demon. This in turn means they literally have demonic blood to an extent.
  • It Was a Gift: Turns out David's infamous paper boy hat was a gift from his sick younger sister.
  • Machine Monotone: When Ian's charisma was reduced to its minimum possible value in session 45 of Moon Festival, he spoke in such a manner.
  • Mad Scientist: Ian's use of special abilities/spells within his "Peacemaker" hunting rifle run the chance to infect a randomised temporary madness of some effect and intensity.
  • Meaningful Name: Diane usually means "Divine", and she is a Fallen Aasimar, beings who are Semi-Divine.
  • Named Weapons: Ian's hunting rifle mystic code "Peacemaker" is named after the deceased party member Gae-El in his honour during the time skip between campaigns.
  • Running Gag: Ian has a back and forth with Duncan usually about the spell Star-fall preceded by "Hey Ian/Duncan! Remember this!"
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Ian fits this as someone who was the canon nerd who eventually ended the second campaign with a 20 in Intelligence, as well as being a advanced Alchemist.
  • Snark Knight: Lancer generally is found to have a more cynical view compared to other players, such as agreeing with the thought that love is a repulsive experience that someone should be allowed to once in their lives revel in.
  • Super-Senses: As a feature of using alchemy, Ian's body eventually gained heightened hearing through mutations, gaining advantage on hearing based perception checks.
  • Undercover as Lovers: Isla and David pose as this during the masquerade party.
  • The Unseen: There hasn't been much information or description of Galehaut underneath his armour. The closest to a reveal is during session 50 where he has removed his armour against Saber, with some aspects such as skin and hair being described. Though even now no offical showcase of his true appearance has been released.
