"This is not a tale of masters, nor of servants. Except it fucking is, Sieg, read the damned script."

Fate/Apocrabridged is a web series created by BlueDrakmaVA(who also does oneshots for other Fate entries), originally uploaded on on March 23rd, 2018 and has currently has four episodes out, as well as breakdowns for each episode.

Fate/Apocrabridged follows the alternate Grail War in the aftermath of said cup being stolen from Fuyuki during World War II via the Nazis. The series follows several characters including the forever exasperated surrogate dad Kairi Sisigou, an alcoholic cat-chasing Mordred, slang-spewing and defiantly neutral Jeanne D'Arc and a Gadfly Backstreet Driver Letecia and, of course, a random homunculus who got a still-beating heart shoved into his chest all magic style named Sieg.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Sadly, in August 2020, the series was canceled, with BlueDrakmaVA saying he was both burned out and sick and tired of his videos constantly getting copyright strikes.

On December 29, 2021, BlueDrakmaVA changed his mind and uncancelled the series. To avoid copyright strikes, the rest of the episodes will be on his Patreon page, though he said the episodes will go on YouTube eventually.

Fate/Apocrabridged Contains Examples Of:

  • Adaptational Dumbass: Gordes wasn't the brightest crayon in the toolbox, but considering he used his first command seal to make Siegfried speak only in Pig Latin (thinking no one else there could understand English with a gimmick) and then used his second command seal to reverse said first command...
  • Adaptation Expansion:
    • The Hydra Venom that saved Mordred from Semiramas' poison is mentioned within the first few minutes of the episode as the jar of snakes that Kairi was given as payment for entering the Holy Grail War. The anime never mentions this.
    • Frankenstein's Monster/Berserker's thoughts and personality are more fleshed out, and is even given her own voice ala telepathic communication with Caules, where she explains her thoughts and feelings towards her creator/father.
      • Sieg's character becomes more fleshed out and his thoughts expanded upon his predicament and lack of personality.
      • Leticia becomes a much more involved character, speaking with Jeanne in their head ala Yu-Gi-Oh!.
  • Adaptational Modesty: BlueDrakmaVa edited pants onto Jack The Ripper, making her outfit more akin of a jumpsuit.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Celenike is far less evil than her cannon counterpart, as there’s no indication she’s sexually abusive towards her servant.note
  • And Zoidberg:
Karna: So, new friends, and Ruler...
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Despite Jeanne being as generally kind as she is in canon, here her stepping in to help Seig comes with a rather chilling ultimatum to Black Faction that illustrates just what a Ruler class is capable of:
Darnic: "Are you forcing my hand, Ruler?"
Jeanne: "I dunno. Are you forcing mine? I got twenty command seals ready for use, and you only have five servants. You could pop off every seal you have and I'd be able to override every single one. What should I make you do? Run away? Stab yourselves? Dance 'til the sun comes back up? Or maybe, you could give me some ideas. Sound good?"
  • Deadpan Snarker: Bordering on World of Snark.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Spartacus. Rider lampshades it.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Amakusa Shirou's original Master in the Third Holy Grail War was only called the Einzbern Master. Here, her name was Anastasia von Einzbern.
  • Not So Above It All: Siegfried might be frustrated by his dumbass master and a few of his associates, but even he has his moments. Like questioning how Karna can be Indian and so white.
  • Not So Stoic: As a Homunculus, Sieg is not able to emote emotions all that well. That said, he does have moments of panic, from learning he would've had three years to live, to finding a fire breathing dragon is behind him.
  • Pokémon Speak: "SPARTACUS!"
  • Shout-Out: When Vlad impales Darnic to try to stop him from using his Command Spells, Darnic says, "You should have gone for the head."
  • The Unpronounceable: Nobody is able to pronounce 'Yggdmillennia', and those who try regret it immediately. The whole reason they've even called 'Black Faction' is because Vlad doesn't want to bother even trying to say it.
  • A Wizard Did It: Under Avicebron's questioning about the premise, Darnic eventually breaks down and admits that he has no clue as to why the Holy Grail is behaving as it is.
The Chalice of God does not come with an instruction manual!
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal: While everybody else seem to be aware of Astolfo's true gender, Gordes seems to be oblivious about it.
