Our strimma in all his glory.

DarkViperAU, real name Matthew Judge, is an Australian Twitch streamer and YouTube content creator who specializes in speedrunning, typically Grand Theft Auto V. Next to speedrunning, he also does challenge runs of the aforementioned game, such as "Chaos Mod", and occasionally more informative videos on the game, covering things like glitches or exploits.

Tropes found in DarkViperAU's content:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Sometimes a glitch resulting in a time loss or something chat votes for to sabotage him in Chat Votes Chaos will get a chuckle out of him.
  • Angrish: When he unexpectedly fails in a run, his response will sometimes consist of him spouting a stream of indecipherable noises.
  • Awesome Aussie: To say the least. An Australian who spent a long time on playing a specific game to get very good at it, while also rocking a tanktop and a nice beard.
  • Berserk Button: Anything that sabotages his speedruns, basically.
    • People who still believe that Michael from GTAV was actually in witness protection. He made an entire video explaining how this does not make any sense and that the story of the game reveals that Michael was lying.
    • Reaction content. To him, reactors basically take other people's content and stream it on their own channel, while barely changing anything about it. This would mean that they are essentially profiting off of someone else work, while the person being reacted to, has now had views go to someone elses reupload of their work.
  • Blatant Lies: A lot of comedy is derived from him making obviously false claims, such as claiming that he "meant to do that" when he fails.
  • Butt-Monkey: The way his runs die and how he fails in Chaos Randomizers are hilariously sadistic.
  • Catchphrase: Several, but "Run's dead." is by far the most iconic.
    • "Are you for reeeal?!" for whenever he experiences particularly ridiculous RNG.
    • "This is millions to one!" as well.
      • This phrase resulted from when he was killed by a cougar during an attempt at beating the game without taking any damage, an occurrence so rare that he hadn't even know that they could actually spawn in missions. Chat took this opportunity to gleefully warn him about cougars whenever he got to that mission in later attempts. DarkViper would later occasionally reference it, often using variations of the phrase.
    • "You disingenuous, dense motherfucker!" was initially a one-off phrase but quickly became a meme in his community which he gladly accepted.
    • "Whyyy, chat?!" for whenever chat screws him over in Chat Votes Chaos.
  • Global Ignorance: During a stream, he played a game where the goal is to find countries on the world map. The man proceded to utterly flunk it, making mistakes such as thinking that Spain was in South America. He claimed that this was because he's Australian, and therefore did not need to know any of this stuff.
  • Marathon Level: In Pacifist%, missions that would ordinarily take less than ten minutes take much longer than usual because of the stipulation behind it. Blitz Play, Derailed, and The Big Score are notable examples in that they took Matt over 24 hours to beat.
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: The idea behind the No Hit Run is that every character he currently plays as dies as soon as they take damage. Since he insists that it's a no "hit" run, he cannot use Trevor's ability which would negate damage.
  • Self-Imposed Challenge: He does several runs in GTAV to spice up the usual speedrunning.
    • Pacifist%: Matt has to get through the game with personally killing as few people as possible. If he has to kill them, he will use melee and if that's not possible, he'd try the pistol. This has the effect of making missions far longer with him waiting for his (usually incompetent) allies to kill enemies as possible.
    • OHKO: The character becomes a One-Hit-Point Wonder and Trevor's power is disabled to make it so that Matt cannot be hit period. Later versions have him go through the entire game without getting a single point of damage.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pepsi MAX is his drink of choice. He also loves McDonald's, which led to a very embarrassing story in which trying to get a Big Mac for lunch cost him $700.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: He has this dynamic with his chat, in which they trade off snarky responses here and there, and chat more often than not tries to sabotage him in Chat Votes Chaos runs. At the same time, it's evident the love is mutual and there's always a portion of people trying to help him on those same runs.
