Escape From The Hypno Jungle is a story written by Hypnosishannon and posted on DeviantArt.

The story follows a Korean-American girl named Yuki, who finds herself lost in a strange jungle after a plane crash. After meeting up with a local girl, Ali, she learns that she landed in the Hypno-Jungle, a place filled with hypnotic plants, animals, and wildlife.

A total of 31 chapters have been posted and is Shannon's most popular story so far. Unfortunately, after being sexually harassed by users, Shannon abandoned the site, leaving the story unfinished.

The story can be read here.

This story contains examples of the following:

  • Author Appeal: Snakes, hypnosis, and bare female feet are some of the author's favorite things to write about. The story exemplifies all of that, with its human characters walking barefoot in jungle-fashioned bikinis and its Lamia characters portrayed with Hypnotic Eyes and being as seductive as possible.
  • Childhood Friend: Ali and Linde became this after the former was given away. Since Linde wasn’t allowed to hypnotize her, they would often play games or manage chores together, which led to them becoming closer.
  • Ecchi: It's tamer compared to most stories on the site, but there is quite a bit of Fanservice. And even then, there’s plenty of Worldbuilding and Character Development to keep the story engaging.
  • Everything Is Trying to Kill You: Just replace “kill” with “hypnotize,” and that accurately describes life in the Hypno-Jungle.
  • Human Pet: This is what becomes of most Split-Lamias, as they don’t have the power to hypnotize. Lamias even refer to them as “toys.”
  • Hypno Fool: Nearly all the main characters are victims of this, but special mention goes to Yuki, who is hypnotized in nearly every chapter, often in different ways.
    • Mika in particular spent the first eight years of her life in a trance, which is finally broken after she joins the main characters.
  • Hypnotic Eyes: This is how the Lamias hypnotize their victims.
    • After Mika snaps out of her trance, she’s revealed to have these as well, making her the first Split-Lamia with the ability to hypnotize.
  • Improbably Female Cast: All the human (or human-like) characters are female, and a good chunk of the story is set in a village of Lamias.
  • Interspecies Romance: This how Lamias came to be. The Hypno-Jungle was once home to humans and hypnotic snakes. The snakes later bred with the human women, producing Lamias.
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: All the human (or human-like) characters are barefoot. For Ali and Mika, this is because they were born in the primitive Hypno-Jungle, and thus have never worn footwear. For Yuki and Kate, this is because they lost their clothes when they were stranded in the jungle, including their footwear.
  • Snake People: The Lamias. Later in the story, we're introduced to Nagas.
  • Sssssnake Talk: Naturally, for the Lamias.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of the Lamias in the story, Nanda is the only one who treats the human characters kindly, serving as a mother-like figure to Yuki, Ali, and Mika.
