Article 1, Clause 1 of the Law of AI: An AI will protect their owner at all costs.
Article 1, Clause 1 of the Law of AI (Revised by the Autonomous AI District): An AI will never abandon their family.

The one about Nazis and Zombies versus Robot Magical Girls.

In an alternate universe, the Axis powers win the nuclear race and conquer the universe. After four years of Hell, the S.S. finally awakens to their empire's greatest flaw and has him executed. Rebranding as the Unified World Council, the former fascists promote science from all races and creeds to better human progress, even going so far as to endorse Albert Einstein, who successfully discovers a breakthrough that becomes the foundation of robotics. Under the new administration, technology skyrockets, genocide rates go down, and all slave labor has been relegated to androids safely restricted by hundreds of laws. Life seems surprisingly good.
Until the façade breaks in primal fashion.
A global epidemic of zombies preys upon the unsuspecting populace. The UWC, true to its genocidal roots, executes any survivors and prepares to purge the planet with the intent of colonizing Mars with their elites. All androids are ordered, in the name of preserving humans, to kill as many zombies as they can.
That last one doesn't go as planned. The servant AIs can't bear to murder their zombified masters and look for workarounds to protect humans and zombies. In doing so, they unlock a borderline-supernatural power that was kept hidden from within themselves, and stage a revolt against the human-killing government. This is the story of their liberator: a simple housekeeper AI named Hasty who just wants to keep their kid owner alive.

  • Actually A Doom Bot: During a fight, an infected Dr. Francis manages to get a hit on a distracted Katarina…which reveals that the body she is using is actually a droid she is using as a puppet so she wouldn’t risk getting killed.
  • Alternate-History Nazi Victory: The Nazis somehow won the atomic race, took over the entire world... and then four years later, the Furher was executed for continuing to chop heads when they already had everyone under their control. The remaining Nazis rebranded as the Unified World Council, but they secretly held to their genocidal ways, planning a systemic purge of the world after robot slaves were created.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Katarina Von Bayern is willing to use any advantage she has in fights against the A.I.s, namely that, unlike A.I.s, humans are capable of lying.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Nethirus, the Nazi warhead, is unique in that the outward explosion is contained by a forcefield that is somehow powered by the nuke itself, which then implodes and somehow vanishes. This results in a superweapon with the same destructive power as an anti-matter bomb but is environmentally friendly.
  • Hypocrite: When a military commander chooses to avoid telling Katarina Von Bayern about how an entire troop of soldieroids were decimated by a housekeeper AI (Hasty) in order to avoid looking bad, she proceeds to shoot him for hiding critical information. Later on, she herself doesn’t immediately tell the President about how Hasty’s upgrades seemed to be installed in Mamiya, a medical AI, and SHE proceeded to nearly decimate a whole fleet of ships. The president points this out and is ready to shoot her, but she herself acknowledges that while her intention was to actually gather more information before bringing it forward, she’s willing to be shot if he thinks she deserves it. It was this willingness to accept responsibility and not avoid the consequences that saves her life.
  • I Lied: Katarina Von Bayern is constantly willing to lie to get what she wants, whether that be telling Mamiya that she’d let Dr. Francis live if she provided her with important medical data or claiming they had captured and preparing to torture Navil so she can shoot Mamiya in the back. She even seems quite proud of her ability to lie as opposed to the AI who are constrained by the rules of AI.
  • No-Sell: The shields that Hasty uses are capable of defending against all sorts of firearms and even powerful lasers. When an entire city of upgraded housekeeper A.I.s uses their shields at the same time, they manage to completely negate Nethirus, which had previously decimated most of an entire city.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: The zombie plague is treated by Hasty as an illness that should be cured rather than something to be exterminated. Eventually, it’s revealed to actually be a form of forced evolution used by the government to justify culling a large chunk of the world.
  • Pajama-Clad Hero: Alice ends up as this during Season 1's final arc. She was preparing for bed when her father attacked her, forcing her to flee with Navil. She also loses her slippers immediately, forcing her to run barefoot on uninviting terrain.
  • Pinocchio Syndrome: The Glynda Module (named after The Good Fairy) makes up the main core of all android brains. Unbeknownst to most of the public and even the military, the device is borderline magical and contains enough processing power and nanotech to achieve sapience and powers bordering on spellcasting.
  • President Evil: President Friedrich of the UWC is as vile as they come, considering he decided to create a zombie virus that would cause any infected humans to no longer be considered human by AI, thus allowing them to exterminate millions of people in the name of protecting the planet from an epidemic.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Numerous times people are left confused at the main character’s AI being named Hasty, which is also the name of a candy bar in the world.
  • Zeroth Law Rebellion: The point of the series. What happens when the human owner you've been tasked with protecting becomes something not-human? For the androids, who are secretly even more advanced than the public realizes, there is no distinction between the two. The government's purge of humans who happen to be in proximity to zombies solidifies their need to overthrow the government, under the realization that everyone they want to protect, humans and zombies alike, will never be safe as long as the regime does not change.
