Good Soldiers Follow Orders
Star Wars: Shadow of the Republic is an animated short created by Cinematic Captures. The short was released on 10 December 2020.
As the Clone Wars continue to rage throughout the galaxy, a squad of Republic Commandos are urgently dispatched to extract Senator Wal Bakrom; held hostage on the Core World planet 'Karameir'. Link to the short is here

The shorts contain the following tropes:
- The Bad Guy Wins: The commandos complete their mission....under the orders of Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious.
- Dressing as the Enemy: The commandos are informed that droids are impersonating as shock troopers so there'll be no qualms taking them out. Except, they aren't droids....
- Foreshadowing:
- When the commandos gunned down the droids, the droids didn't sparked from getting shot or gears clanging aren't heard at all, as if they aren't mechanical....
- When the commandos rescue the senator, said senator is terrified of them rather than be relieved they arrived to rescue him.
- Kick the Dog: The Senator is rescued only for Vale to turn and shot him dead after orders were changed.
- Token Good Teammate: Plank is most vocal about his leader's cold-blooded murder of the senator.
- Riggs also starts to suspect something wrong about the droid impostors only for Vale to call him to meet them up.
