You only live twice.

"Love of the S*n" is an object show created by malues about the S*n (pronounced like 'sun'), the place objects go after they die, but before they get recovered. The first episode can be found here, and the second can be found here.

The first episode follows Charger Block, a charger block who has recently died, and has woken up in a Lotus-Eater Machine-esque facility where he's to wait until he's recovered back on Earth and his memory can be erased.

Love of the S*n contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Long Wait: Charger Block and Michael wait in Charger Block's room for him to be recovered for a month.
  • Cessation of Existence: The Opening Monologue discusses this, but in the end there really is an afterlife.
  • Cliffhanger: The first episode ends with Michael and Sean smashing through the door into the room Charger Block and Crown are hiding in.
  • Crash-Into Hello: Michael and Charger Block crash into Sean and Crown when they're both riding their telekinetic fields to each other.
  • Dead to Begin With: The premise of the series is what goes on in the afterlife after Charger Block dies, possibly permanently.
  • Death Amnesia: Charger Block has forgotten his hundreds of trips to the S*n, as his memories have been wiped every time.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Being an object show, this is everyone... except for the Operators, who have human names.
  • Dramatic Curtain Toss: Michael dramatically reveals the written form of the name of the S*n by throwing aside a white sheet laying over a blackboard.
Michael: I've been waiting to do this for as long as I've been operating you.
  • Dream Reality Check: Crown suggests that Charger Block pinch them so they can wake up. It doesn't work.
  • Endless Corridor: The S*n is a massive corridor that extends seemingly forever both horizontally (on one axis) and vertically.
  • Feel No Pain: Charger Block and Crown don't feel a thing when landing after falling for 51 minutes.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Charger Block theorizes that the Operators aren't actually objects. This is confirmed in an auxiliary video that can be found here.
Charger Block: They're probably not even objects! Can you even imagine what they WOULD be? What they REALLY look like?
  • Furniture Blockade: Charger Block barricades the door to their hiding place as soon as he walks in.
  • Identically Named Group: The S*n is sorted alphabetically, meaning Charger Block is surrounded by thousands of other charger blocks who are also named Charger Block.
  • I Fell for Hours: Charger Block and Crown fall for 51 minutes before hitting the bottom of the S*n.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: When objects get recovered, they forget everything about the S*n.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: The S*n plugs objects into these to project their souls to the more 'real' multiverse.
  • Masquerade: The S*n wipes the memories of everyone who gets recovered so they don't cause a panic.
  • Memory-Wiping Crew: The Operators are this, with one of their tasks being to wipe the memories of objects when they are recovered.
  • Mind over Matter: The Operators have telekinetic field-bubble thingies that Michael uses multiple times to grab Charger Block.
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: Crown falls asleep when Charger Block is explaining why they shouldn't trust the Operators.
  • No Escape but Down: When Charger Block and Crown are hanging off a walkway next to Michael and Sean, they let go and fall to escape.
  • Only One Afterlife: Everyone goes to the S*n when they die.
  • Opening Monologue: The first episode opens with a quote by Alan Watts
  • Shout-Out: Love of the S*n is named after the first line in Tally Hall's song "&".
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: Michael and Sean's names are references to characters from The Good Place: Michael, the afterlife architect, and Shawn, the afterlife judge.
  • Speak in Unison: Michael knows exactly what Charger Block's reaction to dying is, since Charger Block has died hundreds of times before.
Charger Block and Michael [in unison] Where am I? What room is this? Is this hell?
  • Super Cell Reception: A phone starts buzzing in the room Charger Block and Crown are hiding in in the S*n. Lampshaded by Charger Block.
Charger Block: WHY ARE THERE PHONES HERE!? WE'RE DEAD!
  • You Wake Up in a Room: The first episode opens with Charger Block waking up from the Lotus-Eater Machine and flying out of his chair.
