- Attack Deflector: In "A Protogen Gets an Uno Reverse Card", Purple uses the titular reverse card to send a bullet bill from the Super Mario Bros. franchise that was shot out of a white protogen's gun right back towards them.
- Crossover Cameo: Falco Lombardi from Star Fox makes a brief macro appearance at the end of "Macro March with a Protogen".
- I'm Melting!: In "A Protogen Goes Outside (during summer)", Purple ends up melting into a puddle of purple liquid as a consequence of going outside in Texas during the summer.
- Interspecies Friendship: One of Purple's friends is a purple deer named Grape.
- Limited Animation: For the most part, the animation in his still-based shorts consists of the stills being moved around and stretched, with little in the way of actual movement.
