  • In Antz, General Mandible offers this to Princess Bala, but she calls him crazy. He believes historians will beg to differ.
  • Happens in Despicable Me 2, where Eduardo/El Macho and Nefario ask Gru (who by this point is completely reformed) to join their evil plan, and seem quite enthusiastic about working with him.
  • In Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, there's Kadaj's speech to the kidnapped children.
  • In Megamind, Titan makes this offer to Megamind, claiming they could rule Metro City together, the Brains and Brawn method. Megamind, who gave Titan his powers specifically to get back into a comfortable hero-villain routine, is bewildered.
  • Happens twice in Toy Story 3. First off, Buzz is offered a position among the toys to be able to get out of the torturous position, which he declines because he doesn't want to leave his friends behind. Unfortunately, it wasn't a request. The second is, to a lesser extent, with Barbie. She isn't aware of the truth when she accepts Ken's offer and immediately changes her mind when she learns the truth. Although she and Ken kind of do rule together at the end when Lotso is removed and his dictatorship over the toys in the preschool is dismantled. The two take over as head toys in his place, albeit much kinder.
  • In The Powerpuff Girls Movie, a powered-up and gigantic Mojo offers this to the girls, after manipulating them, trying to get them out of the way and realising, after they demonstrated their powers, that this is the only way to avoid ending in the wrong side of their fists. Naturally, this being an origin movie, they refuse.
  • The Lion King: In a scene that was ultimately cut from the film (but resurrected in the Broadway show), Scar attempts to propose to Nala and make her his Queen Consort, but she refuses and is banished.
  • In The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue, there's a song based on this, appropriately titled "Just Say Yes", where Martin tries to get Tim to help him take over Thorn Valley.
  • Rise of the Guardians has Pitch Black practically proposing to Jack Frost, saying what goes together better than cold and dark. Both of them being very similar spirits in a lot of ways makes them somewhat sympathetic to each other and Pitch's offer is seemingly a sincere attempt at getting a friend he can relate to... The look on his face when Jack turns down the offer is actually quite sad and almost heartbroken.
  • The Direct to Video film Green Lantern: First Flight has Sinestro trying to convince Hal throughout the movie that the Guardians are failing at their duties, though it's only near the end that he actually makes the offer.
  • At the climax of Barbie: Mariposa, Henna is about to take control over Flutterfield and tells Mariposa that they can rule it together. Not too surprisingly, Mariposa refuses, and one of the Flutterpixies manages to grab back the antidote during her rant so she can heal the queen.
  • During the climax of Zootopia, the Big Bad Mayor Bellwether attempts to convince Judy Hopps to pull a Faceā€“Heel Turn, using a "Not So Different" Remark as both of them are small mistreated prey animals, and that working together they have the power to unite the prey species to drive all of the predators out of Zootopia. When Judy refuses, she attempts to murder her by turning Nick savage. Fortunately for Judy, Nick was only faking it to trick Bellwether.
  • In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Bowser asserts to Princess Peach that they can conquer the world together when he enacts his plan to propose to her.
