Per wiki policy, Spoilers Off applies here and all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

This film and Bumblebee have a Shared Universe
Think about it, both films were released in a relatively close timeframe (2018 VS 2021), both reboot their respective franchises (GI Joe and the Transformers Film Series, respectively), and both are Prequels about the Breakout Characters of Hasbro franchises, plus Hasbro has confirmed for years that a Cinematic Universe is on the horizon, so it lines up perfectly!
  • Perhaps the Jewel of the Sun is of Cybertronian origin. Admittedly, it's too close to the "Something from Cybertron was instrumental to human history" of the Michael Bay films but it's something.
    • It's the undying Spark of Starscream.
  • Apparently confirmed via the ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Snake Eyes will become silent after all
There's been some backlash towards the trailer depicting Snake Eyes speaking, completely disregarding that this movie is intended to focus on Snake Eyes' origins, that Snake Eyes traditionally being The Voiceless/The Speechless does not necessarily mean that he was never able to speak at all and that trailers are known to take scenes out of context and withhold stuff that audiences would only know from actually watching the movie.

In regards to how Snake Eyes stops talking, he could be rendered mute by a serious injury per usual, or they might go in a more original direction by instead having Snake Eyes persuaded to take a vow of silence.

  • If it's the latter, his last words will be something like, "[whatever-his-real-name-is] is no more, I am... Snake Eyes." He puts on his mask as he stares towards the camera, and then we cut to the movie title in the credits.
  • It was mentioned somewhere that Snake Eyes will "lose his voice".

Snake Eyes' Race Lift
Despite being portrayed by an Asian actor, this version of Snake Eyes will still be American-born, using Golding's British background to justify it. So like all versions, he will still be ignorant of Japanese culture (whether or not this version is of Japanese descent) before being adopted into the Arashikage Clan.

Snake Eyes will also become The Faceless.
We are shown his face since it's an origin film, but something will happen to not only make him mute/silent but to be unable to show his face to anyone again. Thus he'll always keep his mask on throughout the rest of the new film series, keeping him faithful to the character.

The Baroness will be The Heavy.
  • By all accounts she will be the main antagonist and lead the Cobra forces we see in the movie but it will be clear that she answers to the Cobra Commander.

Which Canon Character All Along was Snake Eyes' father
Good money's on Ace.

This version of Snake Eyes is an attempt to consolidate traits of Snake Eyes and Quick Kick into a single character
Quick Kick is a quippy smartass Asian-American martial artist.

This version of Snake Eyes was a quippy smartass Asian-American martial artist before donning the mask.

Since recent comic book movies like the MCU have been running on streamlining the original stories with this method, it's likely not too much of a stretch that Snake Eyes and Quick Kick have been conflated here in an attempt to do the same for the G.I. Joe cinematic reboot universe.

Storm Shadow's Berserk Button will be being compared to Kenta.
Making him go on a rant that Kenta tried to take leadership, while Tommy himself deserves it.

In the sequel, Snake Eyes will become The Voiceless.
While chances of this is slim due to the movie being a Box Office Bomb, here's an idea on how it could go down. Snake Eyes brings back Storm Shadow to the Arashikage Clan so they would help him. But Storm Shadow attempts to kill his grandmother, but Hard Master takes the hit. In the end, there'll be a climatic duel between them, which ends with Storm Shadow slicing Snake Eyes' throat. Snake Eyes was brought back to the Clan to be healed, but permanently lost his voice. As a result, Snake Eyes gives up on Storm Shadow and joins G.I. Joe to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone again, leading to their traditional animosity.
