Possible main plotlines for future novels and/or adventures Serge gets into after the series ends or between books
While the series is likely over with the sad passing of Dorsey on November 29, 2023note , in the event that another author ever continues it or finishes any books Dorsey had ongoing or outlined, here are some theories and speculation.
  • Serge and Coleman will get involved in the real-life superhero lifestyle and don costumes while dealing with organized crime and less violent vigilantes.
  • Shipwreck-diving, with a combination pirate and treasure hunt atmosphere.
  • An aging Serge learns that he has children (maybe lots of them of varying ages from multiple Girl of the Week characters), given all the unprotected sex he has throughout the series. The older ones end up marrying into some of the other notable families of the series. For instance, Serge and Jim Davenport becoming in-laws could be a new source of Cringe Comedy, and if Sharon and/or Rachael Rhodes (also notable for lots of unprotected sex likely going back to before they met Serge) ever had a long-lost kid (whether a Generation Xerox character or a Not So Similar one who can give the family a new start), a younger Storms getting involved with that person could bring the series back full circle. Story Long (one of the many potential mothers of potential Serge kids) is mentioned as having been arrested and convicted for assaulting a protestor who accosted her outside an abortion clinic during her second trimester a few years before her sole appearance. Depending on whether the arrest interrupted the abortion, if she had a kid before meeting Serge and one as a result of meeting him, this could lead to a near case of Surprise Incest. This could just be another installment or a Passing the Torch story where we say goodbye to Serge.
  • Serge is arrested and put on trial, with things being complicated by all of the evidence against him that various government agents have gotten rid of, characters from across the series being his Character Witnesses, and Brook being his defense lawyer. The trial could also be used to emphasize or Retcon Serge's less-justified kills from past books. The storyline could end with Serge in prison (maybe even on death row) as either a Grand Finale or Sequel Hook, staging a dramatic courtroom escape, being acquitted, or getting a pardon due to the publicity about his more admirable deeds.
  • Serge temporarily becomes a small-town cop and has to enforce the law rather than break it.
  • Serge will start reading Carl Hiaasen books; his opinions of them will reflect Dorsey's, and (whether he likes them as a whole or not) he'll borrow kill methods from those books for his next few victims.
  • A visit to Walt Disney World, with comments about how it has changed over the years.
  • Serge attends a Florida-hosted convention like Star Wars Celebration, MegaCon, or the Florida Renaissance Festival.
  • Serge takes part in Seminole War reenactments and complains about how the Seminoles should have won, maybe even affecting the course of the battles with his antics accidentally or on purpose.
  • Serge attends the Daytona 500.
  • Serge has an existential crisis that is mostly Played for Laughs after learning that multiple past antagonists who he or his allies seemingly killed in previous books (Salenca, Rachael, Doug, Sly McGraw, Catfish, some of the Wobbly Town Council, Zigzag, etc.) both somehow survived and have turned their lives around and become reformed, productive members of society.
  • A conversation with snowbirds will make Serge spend a winter somewhere colder like New York, Minnesota, Wyoming, or the Dakotas to understand better why people come to Florida in the winter beyond a simple love for the state like he has.
Johnny Vegas will spend his next book where he has more than a cameo hiring prostitutes to try to lose his virginity.

Johnny Vegas will finally lose his virginity ... after he gives up on devoting his life to that and tries something else, only to end up having a Meet Cute experience that leads to spontaneous sex and maybe even a permanent fulfilling relationship.

City and Country will prove their innocence of the murder charge they've spent so long on the run for.

Reevis and Brook are still together despite her nonappearance in The Maltese Iguana and she is just working on a case out of state.
